About this deal

Unfortunately, because I sung the song, ‘I’m an Animal’ – and got me into trouble, that one – ‘Animal’ sort of stuck and I didn’t like it, but I couldn’t do much about it really. Certainly when you get later on in life, you think, ‘fuck me, that was what it was all about,’ – I think it’s a good vehicle for that. This line-up released the band's fifth studio album, Kings and Queens in 2005, which was released on the Captain Oi! Unfortunately, the band, like a bad smell, just followed me a bit – I still got into a bit of trouble in the band. The reason for this is also another hit of awful news: a couple of weeks ago Animal was attacked whilst out, he was glassed in the side of the head.

On 26 October, the band joined Angelic Upstarts, Sham 69 and The Damned for the academy in the UK 2006: 30th Anniversary of Punk gig at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire. A lot of people come to a punk band, start a punk band, start in music because of watching a punk band. Just got told about this yesterday by my pal as I was talking about not being able to make the London Punk festival last night. In the book there’s a lot of gritty details of how I started, why I did the band, right from the motorcycle background I had. But because we were so fucking far up our own arseholes, we would bring in all types of orchestras and backing singers and choirs and all this fucking bollocks. In 2011, the band recorded the "This Is War" single, and accompanying video, which was followed by a tour with the UK Subs supporting Motörhead on a number of UK dates. During the later months of 2015 writing began for the album The Cage, the first fresh studio album since Rampton. They’ve just taken it and polished it into a typical American – ‘awesome, awesome, man,’ [adopts cheesy American accent] thing.

Argy Bargy are a streetpunk band from Watford whose NEC appearance is just one of a handful of gigs they’re playing this year. Lemmy and I fell out because we – it’s in the book – but in the mid-‘80s, when punk music got sort of stale and Lemmy was still doing Motorhead, we went out, and he looked at me and said, ‘what the fuck’s happened to the Anti-Nowhere League, you’ve all gone fucking pansies or something.

ROCK: I was lucky enough to see you perform So What, with Metallica, at Wembley in ’92, when you came on and did the encore there – that was cool. In 2006, the band set up their own independent record label, Nowhere Records; with Pig Iron - The Album being the first release in August 2006. They’re nothing like DBD, and now he’s concentrating his efforts on this band, who have an EP out on STP Records.

And in my book it says that I should’ve took his advice, that he was right, I just fell out with him [over it]. November 1981 saw the release of their first single, a cover version of Ralph McTell's " Streets of London".

I think everybody should just wait to read the first bits of it to see whether it’s too hot to handle.
