Obviously, this Spinosaurus does not reflect modern scientific reconstructions; instead, it faithfully represents the long-legged, snarling visage of Stan Winston’s iconic monster design. Unlike the Jurassic Park ‘Bull Rex’ or ‘Thrasher Rex’ this toy wasn’t crammed into a box that was too small for it and therefore none of its body was squished into an undesirable position. It could be hard to do many movements for such a small model, but I think they can make one with better colors and a thinner seam. Some of the joints aren’t as flexible as would be ideal – and I would have preferred more complex articulation in the ankles – but it’s serviceable overall and certainly fun to play with.

Every other large rubber-skinned dinosaur in the Jurassic Park toy line had solid plastic teeth (save for their ‘Demon Carnotaurus’). Plus, the Spinosaurus action figure is articulated and has extreme chomping mouth activation so watch out for that bite! Have fun creating battle scenes limited only by your imagination and amaze your friends and role play your favourite movie or animation scenes and themes. Amazing technology allows you to pull down on the dinosaurs arms and hear 6 different roars whilst watching the Velociraptors eyes light up.

Teeth aside, the paint job annoys me because it doesn’t resemble the Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park 3 much at all. The sail is also too small and thin, though part of me is assuming this was done purposefully to prevent the toy from becoming too top heavy. There are also 2 snap squad Spinosaurus, the first one is the gray color scheme and the second one is light brown and branded as Camp cretaceous.
