Based on the smoothness of this finish, I’m assuming that they’re now making the QP plugs with PU foam.Once in, the new, denser Quiet Please have more pressure points, they don’t breathe, and they don’t seal properly. After using Quiet Please for 10 years of uninterrupted sleep I’ve barely slept for 2 weeks with the new product ( live by a large body of very wavy water! I've tried lots of different earplugs and these by far are the best at blocking all sounds, especially low frequency. Depending on your ear, you might get better noise reduction with smaller, well-fitting earplugs with perhaps a lower NRR. For noise environments dominated by frequencies below 500 Hz the C-weighted environmental noise level should be used. Moreover, from day four on, the Protechs need a lot longer to expand enough for them to mute the sound of my bedroom AC unit. On day three, however, the Original QP are still going strong while the Protechs are noticeably worse.

They are good earplugs, and would be my night-time low-frequency plugs if Quiet Please became unavailable.
