Once again, an overlooked vehicle because of its gimmicky look, but in fact, it's a real asset and functions very well with its Octane design. Like most popular games, it was inevitable that Rocket League’s reach would spill out into the real world. Whether you play with friends or hit the ranked leaderboard, make sure your car is match-ready, especially if you’re looking to earn some Rocket League trophies.

If you’re a new player – or even an old player confined to one PC or console – some of the aforementioned bodies may not ring any bells. The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch game versions include console-exclusive unlockable Battle-Cars ( Sweet Tooth for the PlayStation 4; Hogsticker and Armadillo for the Xbox One; Mario NSR, Luigi NSR, and Samus' Gunship for the Nintendo Switch).More options would definitely be great, but with that Hot Wheels Rocket League Rivals RC Set out there, it may be very easy to forget that it’s not a property blessed with a massive assortment of toys, models, and playsets. It involves hyper fast cars playing soccer, complete with the ability to flip, jump, and rocket boost into the ball. This one quietly hit the scene in mid-2021 and has become a go-to for many who favor the versatility of the Octane, with its similar body type. You may say that out loud and think it sounds ridiculous, but the moment you strap into a mini battle-car and start chasing an oversized ball across an arena, you realize just how brilliant the idea is. This is the first (and remains the only) vehicle body release via Special Event Crate (Totally Awesome Crate).

In 2019, four years after the game was released, Epic Games acquired Psyonix, making Rocket League a property of the same studio behind Gears of War and Fortnite. While rocket boosts were out of scope for this build, [mrak_ripple] was pretty confident he could build a jumping, flipping RC car modelled after the Rocket League Octane vehicle. While described by some as being closer to the more familiar Dominus hitbox, its Breakout build gives it more of an aerial presence. The Nimbus sports a Hybrid design that's a bit more middle-of-the-road in terms of its hitbox and mechanics. Anyone that got their hands on this fully interactive set really had the best Rocket League toy to release. This sleek luxury car grants an easy learning curve for those used to the tried-and-true Dominus, as it sports a similar design and hitbox.

Updated May 29, 2023 by Stephen LaGioia: Psyonix's exhilarating sports racer continues to rev its engine even after several years. The Dominus hitbox is notorious for its paddle-like shape and large surface area, making it perfect for trick shots, but losing out in many match-ups due to the low height and awkward front end which doesn’t accurately match many of the car models.Goals with infrared sensors, an oversized ball, clip-in bumpers, and an area mat that replicates the in-game playing field cultivate an environment for casual competition between friends and family. Breakout is great at leading balls and passing, and its flat top allows a lot of impressive maneuvers.

While the focus of Rocket League is about getting the giant ball into your opponent’s goal, it’s also a matter of being the fastest with the best control of their ride. Being such a big part of the game and its marketing, it makes sense that Hot Wheels would focus a 1:64-scale die-cast on the iconic ride. Stationary figures are nice to look at, but it’s something like the Hot Wheels Rocket League Rivals RC Set that’s going to get children (and adults) excited. With the longevity the series has, it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if more toys are launched in the future, but for now, it may be best to assume that what’s out there is what we’ll get. Answer: Though Hot Wheels and Rocket League have been connected through a few collaborations, the video game was initially owned by its publisher and developer Psyonix. While it drives sharp and smoothly, the Outlaw is also somewhat sizable, making it capable defensively as well. The Marauder's enormous and intimidating look is off-putting for some, and the handling is not as smooth because of it, but because it's so massive, it can serve hits like no other and is perfect for defending the goal. There’s not much to these Battle-Cars, but I appreciate Jazwares focusing on an inconsequential part of the game and building a whole series of toys around it. If we label the left-most side of this Ramp Section "0" then we see that our starting point is 0+3/5 x 1/4 Ramp Sections = 3/20 RS or 0.
