About this deal

Comfort is also great, many hours, minimum fatigue. Might have to get used to the weight, clamp pressure, and curly cable weight & handling. But in a weeks time it will be second nature. My longest session wearing it was 22 hours. I have used it for nearly 3 years now, almost every day 7 days a week, 3 to 12hrs a day. First things first, this is not a set of “muddy” headphones, or whatever words people like to use when describing sound they don’t like. You have to power it correctly. If you know that your computer or phone can handle it, the DT 770 PRO can handle pretty much anything you throw at it, but you need to know that they have a very strong emphasis in the highest notes which can get a little grating after a while. This simply means that the emphasis in anything that goes through them tends to favor the highest notes over all else. Lows, mids, and highs The 770 Pro 250 ohm has transducers fitted to adjustable yokes which gives the ability to better position the headphone to fully enclose the ear. As a result, this will provide the optimum listening experience for accurate sound monitoring. Impressive Frequency Response For mixing and mastering in the studio, open headphones are often used because of the better spatial representation. Our portfolio includes the DT 880 PRO, the DT 990 PRO, the DT 900 PRO X and the DT 1990 PRO. Headphone fits comfortably on your head, does not cause sweating thanks to soft velvet pillows and does not wring your ears.

The DT 770 PRO is a closed dynamic headphone of exceptional quality at a great price, suitable for demanding professional and audiophile applications. The long-term comfort and accurate performance make the DT 770 PRO excellent monitoring headphones for recording studios, post production, or broadcasting situations.

The DT 770 studio headphone is designed to deliver accurate sound. It does all this while giving you a very comfortable fit for long music production sessions. Who Is Beyerdynamic? The DT 770 250 ohm is better for mixing, mastering, reference, and critical listening situations. It has a better soundstage, more detail and more clarity for the studio environment. The DT 80 ohm might be better for a casual and studio environment. You will also need an amp or audio interface to better experience the power of the Beyerdynamic DT 770. We will take a brief look at the DTT Pro 80 and ATH- M50x headphones and see how they hold up against the Beyerdynamic Pro DT 770 Pro 250. Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 vs 250 As goes the headphones, I rate them five stars in every respect taking into account their budget price. I also own Amiron Homes, which certainly sound a little better but which don’t quite fit my head as perfectly as the 770s, and I have a pair of 880 250ohms which I think have a significantly different sound signature from the 770s (very precise but understated bass and a gauzy, delicate treble). I am not a fan of closed headphones per se, but sometimes it is the only politic choice when wearing them around the house, and the 770s are the only such headphones I have so far found that I really enjoy the sound of and find comfortable when wearing for long periods. I find that the 80 ohm 770s work well on any device and yet they still benefit from dedicated amplification (which in my case comes in the form of a couple of Little Dot Mk 2 head amps in a couple of different systems. For my 250 ohm headphones these Little Dots are essential).

Regardless, I went with 80 ohm ones and these headphones are kind of a benchmark for every day use headphones for me. Now, I am no audiophile, but I can tell a good pair of cans from bad ones - and these ones do justice on all fronts. Thanks to the STELLAR.45 driver, The PRO X range are going to sound excellent in the Studio, plugged into an interface or amplifier – but you can also use them on the go if you plug them into a laptop or a smartphone as they are going to turn up very loud.SOUND: Overall very clear sound with wide stereo image. I find them especially good for rough mixes because of the wide stereo image. Bass is clear and tight, no mud and mush in the low end, which is exceptional at this price level. Mids are well defined and clear. Highs are very nice, but kind of soft, so you will want to take that into consideration while mixing. Most other headphones and monitors will sound brighter and crispier. I personally prefer the tamed highs on DT770, since they allow me to listen for longer, without as much ear fatigue. This is totally a personal preference though. Just so there is no confusion: you can hear all the highs properly (at least in my hearing range, which is up to 17.5 kHz). Therefore, the Audio-Technica M50x is great for bass-heavy music such as dance music. If you also do a lot of DJ gigging and produce bass-heavy music, the Audio-Technica M50x might be a better headphone for you. It’s best to connect the DT 770 Pro 250 to an amp or audio interface for optimum music recording experience. Pros Of The Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 There are a few features that are quite similar in both studio headphones, but the ATH-M50x has an impedance of 38 ohms compared to 250 ohms of the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250. Additionally, here are some concerns about the plastic on the headphone feeling a bit cheap for a headphone in this price range. Those features might look cheap but they hold up quite well and they were the least of my worries.

The comfort deserves more than 5 stars - those bunny rabbits on your ears are just amazing. Just as a testament to how amazed and awesome these headphones are, I have received my brand new guitar in the same shipment as these headphones. After putting on these headphones I simply sat there and listened to music, that is how amazing they are. What are your experiences with these headphones? We’d love to know in the comments below. DT 770 PRO: Closed studio headphones | beyerdynamic

After a bit of EQ I got them to sound more natural and a bit more neutral. The 770s have a bit of a fame for strident highs. While I don't exactly agree that it is overbearing, the higher frequencies did indeed carry an extra power, which is something I don't have a particular taste for. After running some tests, I EQed them to taste by raising the lower frequencies by just a bit, as well as lowering the higher frequencies. Just a touch of gain adding and reduction here and there, and after that, they were good to go for me. Typical for a dynamic headphone from the nineties, the driver will distort once it goes into high excursion due to low frequency content or high SPL. This distortion dips below 1% only at around 105 Hz (when measured at high output levels), and throughout all of this, a nasty 3rd harmonic is very present from 60 Hz to 100 Hz so, when doing anything low-end critical, be careful as this is also present without calibration applied! How accurate and consistent is the correction effect among different listeners? I use the RME Babyface Pro Fs, more than enough gain. But on my samsung phone max volume is about 70%-80% of what I would prefer as ideal. It's okay, not bad, but I'd recommend an headphone preamp if you want to drive the 250ohm version just from phone. Additionally, with more bass than the DT 770 250, the DT 770 Pro 80 does well with bass heavier genres such as dance music.

Our Final Thoughts On The Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250

Additionally, with a robust spring steel headband and a soft head pad, the Beyerdynamic Pro studio headphones are quite comfortable to wear for hours. Cons Of The Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 The PRO models (DT 770 PRO, DT 880 PRO, DT 990 PRO) are designed for professional applications, e.g. in the recording studio. The Edition models are suitable for use at home on the stereo system.
