I continued shooting and the nice lady kept telling me what each pellet had done. Then it occurred to me that if my smart phone was recording each shot, perhaps it was also making a list, just like the ones I always used to make on paper. Sure enough, it was! Last shot Airgunners want to know the velocity and power coming out of their rifle. This is especially important with FX Airguns that allow the ability to tune, change calibers, and change barrel liners. FX Airguns of Sweden are leaders in pushing the envelope of pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) design. Once the app was installed (it took only a minute) I followed the online directions and was set up in less than three minutes. The latest addition for the very popular FX Chronograph. This is the stand alone digital display unit. It can be clipped directly onto any picatinny rail or remove the picatinny adapter and slot direct onto the rear rail of the FX Impact. The chronograph market has traditionally been dominated by optical models (Caldwell, CED, Chrony, Combro, ProChrono) that use the shadow cast by a projectile shot over a pair of light sensors to measure its velocity. As anyone who has used one knows, function depends entirely on having the right kind of ambient light and shooting over the chrono can all too easily lead to it being damaged or destroyed. Simply place the chronograph below the muzzle, Open the FX radar app on your phone, and start firing away as the phone lists (or even calls out) your shot-string. The unit has an on board battery which can be charged via a USB C cable ( cable IS included ) - You will require your own charger unit such as a phone charger. This was the last shot in the string. The chronograph failed to record the 9th shot, so this became the 9th shot. Pardon the flash in the lower right corner of the phone screen, but I was too lazy to get out the tripod. And I forgot I could take screen shots on my phone. See how difficult it is to grow old? Ain’t no graceful about it.

Now, some of you don’t own a chronograph yet and you want to know whether this one can be used in all situations. I don’t know the answer to that, but it’s one of the things I plan on looking into.
