Description

This test was developed from the ground up to measure about 100 of the most common allergens that your pet may be reacting to. We not only test for common foods and environmental factors, you will also learn which popular supplements and even every-day household products may be causing your pet to react. Get to the bottom of your dog’s well-being Our Standard Equine Sensitivity Test is designed as your first step to a better understanding of your animal. We advised that you vaccinate against kennel cough if your dog is socially active – if it meets other dogs in kennels, doggy day care or out on walks or if it walks on areas that other dogs also enjoy.

We advocate discovering the cause of your pet’s sensitivities and learning which foods and products are best for your pet—and which to avoid. The protection from the leptospirosis vaccination does not last a long time and it is for this reason we recommend yearly vaccination against this disease. We know that the immunity for the other diseases does last longer and it is because of this knowledge that we vaccinate against parvovirus, hepatitis, and distemper every 3rd year. There are two different types of immunity in our patients – antibody immunity (measured by titre testing) and cell immunity (which is not measured by titre testing). The two types of immunity are believed to normally correlate but it is not clear how much. Information on the Health Test Results Finder should be used only to facilitate healthy breeding and should not be reproduced elsewhere for any other purposes. Our Standard Cat Sensitivity Test is designed as your first step to a better understanding of your pet. If you have any further questions or queries regarding the test results, our expert and friendly team is available at [email protected] to answer any questions you may have. Our pet test is one of the most comprehensive on the market and tests for most common pet food items, but also covers a variety of human foods that pets may unintentionally consume. All of our vets are more than happy to discuss our vaccination protocols and provide you with any information you may need to make an informed choice that is right for your pet and your family.

Sometimes there’s more than one way to treat your pet. Your vet will talk you through the risks and benefits of each option. All test results may be used for research purposes. In using the information from the DNA single gene health test result, users accept all the conditions set out above. As a UK veterinary practice we believe that vaccination against the core diseases (canine parvovirus, distemper, canine hepatitis and leptospirosis for dogs; feline panleukopenia virus, feline herpes virus and feline calicivirus) and non core diseases (including kennel cough and feline leukaemia virus) protects your pet and the wider animal population by minimising the chances infectious disease has to infect new victims.Uncover your pet's abilities and find out how your pet compares to the rest of the nation by putting it to the test. Note: Upon request and at its discretion, The Kennel Club may require a test to be retaken to confirm a clear result. Before your vet can give your pet the right treatment, they need to pinpoint exactly what’s wrong. This process is called ‘diagnosis’ and there are plenty of tools and resources to help your vet go about it. The Kennel Club excludes liability to the extent it is legally entitled to do so (including indirect, consequential or incidental damages) in respect of any decision made or action taken or not taken in reliance upon information provided by the DNA single gene health test results published. Please note, our labs and offices are closed during weekends and bank holidays and this may affect response times.

Using just a small sample of hair/fur, we can extract a huge wealth of data in the Test My Pets laboratories, allowing us to test against 100 common items including Meats and Dairy, Egg, Gluten and Vegetables, and Non-food Environmental Items. To complicate things still further titre tests are not 100% reliable and there are many different tests available on the market. It is possible to get false negative results (where the test says your pet has less antibodies than it actually does) and false positive results (where the test says your pet has more antibodies than it actually does). False positive results can lead you to believe that your dog has antibody protection against disease that it doesn’t have. We can also vaccinate against Rabies if your pet is travelling abroad and this is a legal requirement. Next, think about your family’s day-to-day life. How often are you away during the day? Are there people with special needs in your home? What are their ages? Do you lead an active lifestyle or do you spend your free time relaxing in front of the TV? Are pet allergies a concern?

Get to the bottom of your dog’s well-being

All dog owners confirm and release The Kennel Club from any and all liability resulting from the publication of a test result relating to a particular dog. The Kennel Club publishes results on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any representations or warranties of any kind. Scans and x-rays. These help your vet see inside your pet’s body. X-rays can help a vet find broken or fractured bones and see how serious the injury is. X-rays can also help to flag up if a pet has eaten something it shouldn’t - vets have spotted spoons, toys and even a TV aerial on x-rays! Other scans, like ultrasounds, can help diagnose conditions like kidney stones, tumours or heart problems. If you have any further questions related to your test result, please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected] and the team will be more than happy to help.

Therefore the presence of antibodies to a particular illness may suggest that your pet is immune to that illness. Diagnosing what’s wrong with a pet can be a challenge – they can’t tell us directly how they feel, or where it hurts. Getting to the bottom of what’s wrong with a pet can take a bit of detective work. For our feline friends the use of vaccinations and the length of their immunity is an area under much investigation and study currently. Talk to you. No-one knows your pet better than their owner and you can give your vet lots of important information. They’ll ask about your pet’s history, behaviour and any changes in the way they’ve been acting. If you notice a change in your pet (e.g. they’re eating less or going to the toilet more often) make a note so you can tell your vet.As part of testing for an allergy, your vet will likely suggest carrying out an elimination diet for your pet. This will involve feeding your pet an alternative diet (usually called a hydrolysed protein diet), which cuts out likely allergens. Then, after the dietary exclusion period, you’ll start reintroducing ‘normal’ foods – it should be obvious from these test results which (if any) foods trigger allergic reactions in your pet. Our Dog Plus Test designed as the most comprehensive test providing you with a wide range of results giving you the best possible start on Dog’s health journey.
