About this deal

With compound hip and ankle joints and fixed-angle "knees", along with complex shoulder and bicep assemblies, this Devastator has far greater flexibility than any previous version, and as such can stand more erect than is typical for the character. This allows a pose similar to early concept art, and makes him easily the largest Studio Series figure to date. This mold's head is based on pre-production concept art for an Autobot cement mixer character, thus this goofier design rather than the monster seen on-screen. In the Pyramid Desert Battle scene from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the desert sands quake as the Constructicons combine to form Devastator.

This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. Revenge of the Fallen Supreme Class Devastator is formed from the combination of six transforming construction vehicle toys that do not have individual robot modes. Unlike prior cases of this format, Devastator's vehicles represent separate Transformers, and most of them have other non-combiner toys that do have robot modes. Not unlike Bonecrusher in the first movie, Revenge of the Fallen sees Mixmaster (and indeed, quite a lot of other Decepticons) emits some heavily processed, garbled Cybertronian noise that desire has occasionally led fans to misinterpret as real dialogue. The difference is that the DVD subtitles actually interpret the roar Mixmaster lets out before transforming to battle mode as the sentence fragment "Listen up..." Unlike Bonecrusher, no voice actor is listed in the end credits. Hasui opted for omitting the knee joint altogether, which is a sensible decision imo. This also facilitates the much stronger sliding connection between Overload and the two legs. Judging by all the TakTom official photos Devy was probably designed standing only so I haven't really tried fan-moding him on all fours yet. Might add to this post later. As to the hunching physique, yeah nothing much you can do to fight gravity really; I'm happy Devy can be hunched as is. So realizing how big a bullet I'd have to bite to buy an aftermarket Scrapmetal once I had judged SS Devastator as being a sufficient level of want, I decided the easiest solution would be to get this set and pawn off the extra Long Haul I got literal days before this was announced some time in the future. Wouldn't you know it, the one toy in this entire set who's individual release has the highest aftermarket markup, and he's the one with a missing piece. I went from bummed that I have to now carve out a replacement piece for him, to terrified when I tried to connect him to Hightower and couldn't find the attachment peg and thinking "Oh crap, don't tell me that's the piece I'm missing", to relieved when I actually found the peg and confirmed from videos online that yes it is the front wheel that's missing.

Update: Several of our members pointed out that there are some non-official configurations for Devastator’s legs and head that will help you to display him in four-legged mode.

Edit: Nevermind, Scavenger wasn't misassembled. I just tried attaching the struts while they were behind him instead of in front of him. Although Mixmaster/Scavenger could've easily had tabs for Overload's legs, overall the combined mode feels well planned out imho. Maybe we'll find out if how Hasui planned out the design processes, but the end result is excellent all things considered. According to Ben Procter's concept art, Mixmaster originally had a friendly face based on that of actor Brendan Gleeson... and was apparently going to be an Autobot. The early head design was actually put to use in the Generation 1 Mixmaster-themed redeco store exclusive, as well as the Legends Mixmaster.

the left arm feels noticeably heavier to me than the right. The connecting post that everybody is worried about does carry a heavy load, a bit unbalanced no less, but it looks to be made of sturdy ABS so I'm not too concerned. Guess time will tell. The legs might be different in weight in the end,but the upper body weighs so much more it feels like that's negligible.
