About this deal

For existing lawns when over seeding use one of our seasonal fertilisers - the 'sandy soil' variety in spring and summer will give you a better nutrient balance even if you have clay soil. You can use 'starter' or a 'seasonal fertiliser' for patching small areas. For new lawns Again take note of the weather conditions, fertiliser will not work if the ground isn’t moist and the salt content within the fertiliser can cause even more stress for the lawn. If the conditions suddenly change then you can feed the lawn using either a granular (recommended) or liquid feeder. Autumn We then added Fertilisers to keep your lawns healthy and looking great all year round, and a huge selection of high-quality professional Weed Killers for hard surfaces, lawn use and for specialised treatments, along with Hard Surface Cleaners for algae & moss on multiple types of surfaces. Flexible - Three or more Feeds per Annum: For the keen gardener or lawn enthusiast, you can exert much more control over the lawn by using 3 month slow release fertilisers and liquid fertiliser. Use the appropriate Spring & Summer feed in spring, and in summer, if conditions warrant it, either repeat the application or use Solugreen liquid feed every 4 to 6 weeks. Finish the year with an Autumn feed. If the winter we have experienced has been cold and dry but still with a good amount of light then damage to the turf will be considerably less than if the winter is a wet and cloudy one due to the damage that would be caused from low light conditions and excess water from rainfall.

The 9-7-7 Everris ICL Sportsmaster fertiliser is ideal for treating grass throughout spring and summer. 9-7-7 Sportsmaster is suitable for treating any grassed area from sports fields to fine lawns. A fast acting blended fertiliser, 9-7-7 Sportsmaster will help you gain a healthy, lush and vigorous lawn. Having a healthy lawn enables it to withstand many lawn issues, such as weeds, moss growth, disease and drought. You can expect the nutrients to be released slowly over a 6 week period which avoids any rapid top growth and repeated mowing. Apply by hand or through a spreader in mid-season on areas subject to intense use. If you haven't seen this sort of damage before with your lawn in previous years, then it is worth getting a grass seed that suits your ordinary conditions whether that be a grass seed that is needed to be hard wearing or one that is suitable for use on a sports field. Many fertilisers work on a slow release basis, however these do vary from one fertiliser to another. Some gardeners may prefer to fertilise only once during the growing season in spring, using a very slow release fertiliser. However, this is not always the best option. It is recommended that you fertilise your lawn around 4 times per year, as mentioned above, as this gives you a greater control over the amount of nutrients delivered to your lawn according to its health and weather conditions. Finally, because liquid feeds are taken up by the leaves of the grass you are best spraying mature grasses (at least 3 months old preferably 6 months) that are in good condition i.e. plenty of soil moisture and NOT straight after scarifying. BEST FOR THE UK CLIMATE – A1 Lawn ultimate fertilisers are freshly produced in the UK, professional grade & designed to work with the British weather. This ensures fast germination & delivers a strong & healthy lawn every year. Use March, April, May, June, July & August. Apply when showers are predicted or water in well.

Lawnsmith® lawn fertilisers are blended to give the lawn the correct amount of nutrients over a period of time. The following programmes progressively increase the fertility levels: The other advantage of fertilising your lawn more regularly means that you can use a targeted fertiliser designed specifically for either spring, summer, autumn or winter months. Applying soil conditioners such as manure and compost helpmake nutrients, water and air all more available to plant roots asthe soil forms into crumbs with spaces for air and water between them. Unlike grass ‘weed and feed’ products, Lawnsmith® Granular Fertilisers do not contain pesticides or weed killers. Though the bag of bulk material should be stored safely away from children and pets, the lawn may be used by children, wildlife, dogs and cats immediately after application.

If you wish to feed and kill moss at the same time then Winter Green Fertiliser is safe but can stain feet up to 72 hours after application. If conditions are right, which means the grass is growing and there is moisture in the soil then it is best to apply Lawnsmith® Fertilisers straight after mowing. You can also apply before or after rain. Feeding AND Weeding

Squeeze the soil in the palm of your hand; if it forms a sausage shape and stays together when you open your hand its clay based soil. If it crumbles into a few pieces then a sandy base is more likely. Test 2: A few pets have some peculiar idiosyncrasies, therefore, if you feel your pet may consume or is sensitive to these products then keep them off or don’t use the product. NITROGEN RICH GRASS FERTILISER – The high nitrogen content (NPK 10-4-4) of our lawn feed will improve your grass’ lush green leafy growth during Spring & Summer. The Phosphorus aids healthy grass roots & shoots whilst the Potassium gives a strong, hardy & more durable grass, to give you an all year round great looking lawn. If using granules, you will need to keep pets and children away from any treated areas until the granules have been watered into the lawn. Tools You can carry out a soil analysis prior to fertilisation to know which one is right for your job. Fertiliser EquipmentFor weed killer we suggest you use one of our liquid products as the manufacturer’s recommendations are that once dry they are safe. If you can’t tell then take a small sample of soil from your garden. If you think the soil in your lawn is different from the rest of the garden then use a spade to lift a small area of lawn turf and take a golf ball size bit of soil from about 2” down.

If you have weeds and/or moss in your lawn then use a weed, feed and moss killer to save time and money on buying and applying weed killer for lawns and lawn fertiliser separately. At A1 Lawn we believe life is better with a garden, and we want to make your lawns and plants as happy as they make us. Applying fertiliser incorrectly though will cause more damage and your lawn will eventually suffer. Timing is everything and applying the correct fertiliser for your lawn environment.Getting a detailed Lawn Soil Analysis will help you to diagnose why your grass is not growing very well. You will then get a tailored fertiliser treatment plan based on the results with details of which fertiliser the grass needs, how much and when to apply.Having healthy soil structure and pH are just as important as applying fertiliser. When the frosts have passed and things are looking as though they are starting to warm up, overseed the entire turfed area. We recommend overseeding the entire area so that the new grass seed blends well with the grass that is already there. Ideally you are going to want soil temperatures to be around 8 - 12 degrees before you start sowing any of our grass seeds. Fertiliser that is sprayed as a liquid is traditionally used to top up the nutrients in the lawn. A bit like you having an apple or a Kit-Kat between main meal, though some people do use liquid fertilisers as a regular monthly feed with good results. Our fertilisers and weed control products are also designed mixes for specific solutions, whether feeding your lawn in Spring, preparing the soil before seeding, or controlling selective weeds or moss. Additional to our own branded range, we offer lawn care products from a variety of leading brands including Round Up, Enforcer, Sapphire and MMC Pro.
