You know what’s great about my experience with this series (trilogy?)? That my memories of stories/relationship between Greek gods is fleeting. I’m not unaware but bc I didn’t grow up with hearing Greek mythological creatures, every YouTube video I watch about them stays in my short term box of my brain.

They have a heart-to-heart. Why? Not only do they not have ANY chemistry but also whatever vulnerabilities they have are soooooo forced, I can't even. I like romance and spice as much as the next person but where did actual conversations go? Where did the plot go? There were so many unnecessary sex scenes - ESPECIALLY in all the new POVs. if you’re missing celestia, PLEASE reread this book. it added so much to the mythology and lore of the story, and made me fall even deeper in love. The prince has had a bad past and must "find release" somehow. and according to his bestie... "he has plenty of release"- his words not mine. Prince is the soulmate of the FMC btw... why do authors do this? Make men man-whores and even till 26% in, he was seen (for whatever reason) flirting with OW. While she was propositioned by someone who's position is higher than the prince (the star of their country/state)- and not only does she immediately deny him (the star) but she "feels the need to clarify to him that she said no. She doesn't know why" 🙄 when he (the prince) asks pouting about whether she will take him up on his offer.Then once work was complete the skeletons were sent to their respective new homes with paperwork apparently confirming that they were a certain saint. The villagers must have been dazzled by the creation that arrived and was installed in their local church. The saints often became part of village life and were carried proudly aloft during processions as a source of local pride that they had been so honoured . The largest number of them are in the Basilica at Waldsassen which has 10. And do you want to know something that was really tiresome? Every time Elara and Enzo were having sexy times they were interrupted somehow. It happens at least four times in the book. Four. Times. In. ONE. Book. AND WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN INTERRUPTED IN THE DAMNED GRAVEYARD, THEY HAVEN'T.

This is a gorgeous book with lovely photos. I enjoyed Dr Koustounis’ last book ‘Th e Empire of Death’ which was about ossuaries and charnel houses and this is even better. There is also a really good skeleton hiding somewhere under all this fluff. The premise is so good- refreshing. Interesting. Definitely caught my interest. i’m so gutted by this because i LOVED the first book. heavenly bodies is one of my favorite fantasy romances that i’ve ever read. i was so hyped for the sequel and i’ll admit my expectations were high. but this installment was such a let down. elara felt like she was acting so out of character in the first half of this book and it felt like all her character development in book 1 was all for nothing. same with enzo. he just didn’t really feel like the enzo i loved in HB. i don’t know if that’s because they were already together so the pining wasn’t doing it or because the hate to love aspect was missing. Wow! I thought I was reeling with all of the implications and revelations we got from the first book but that had nothing on all of the things we discovered in this one! Now I'll admit that it had a bit of a slower start as the plot was understandably very focused on getting one thing done that had both time and location restraints. There were some interesting things that happened here and there but overall it was the perfect "break" that allowed for readers to fully process and come to terms with all of the new information that had been revealed. Another bright side? We also got to thoroughly explore Castor and see a completely new side of Eli that I immediately fell in love with! I was smitten with him the second we met him previously so getting to learn more about his past and seeing him soften towards the gang over the course of the book was so freaking precious! And chapter 78? My heart was exploding, that whole chapter was absolute perfection and broke me in the happiest way possible! 🤍

Elara's a Queen. She's clever, strong, and confident. And yes she does fall, and yes there are some very cute possessive "who did this to you" scenes with Enzo, but I still admire how she holds her own.
