About this deal

I quite often long to be told I am worthy and that I have purpose in this world, and this book confirms that without even knowing me. Like I said, it SPOKE to me. With a very warm tone every sentence and every word in so incredibly comforting. I want Jeff Foster to be my friend, and be there to listen to me and encourage me of my darkest of days (but now I have this book). World War One or The Great War began in 1914 and ended in November of 1918. When "A Bond Never Broken" begins it is October of 1917 so there is slightly more than a year to go before this war ends though at the time no one knows this. War always causes great stress on those that are in it whether they are fighting where the battles are or are left at home and America was under a great deal of stress here at home. Anything or anyone German was under careful scrutiny whether t In addition to the stories of her life, she shares her philosophical views on life and happiness and getting your life together when you have gone through traumatic events. She has pulled herself through all that heart break and wants to share what she has learned to help others. She admits that she is still a work in progress, but she states early on the book that we are not broken. "There is no real explanation for what spirit is, just a sense of it, but I know that a spirit cannot be broken any more than water can be broken, or any more than air can be split apart." There is more to the quote, but I won't go on. It's enough to say that this book made me think and feel and evaluate my view of life.

Dorothy was the other main character in Never Broken. She was mentioned a few times in the first book but never was made into much of a character. Well, in this book, she was one of the main characters. My heart broke when she realized she felt so protective of Saul because of an unspeakable loss she had experienced years earlier. Saul reminded her of her son. She was also a bad b*tch who wouldn’t give up Saul, no matter what. Amid these verses, Foster provides his signature direct teachings on meditation, the great value of stillness and silence, and what it means to surrender completely to the beauty of the present moment. For Foster, the winding path to self-acceptance started with nonjudgmental observation of the thoughts that plagued him—and here he shares his world-renowned expertise on how to begin your own journey. I Was Never Broken Book PDF Summary

There are, as others mentioned, some self-helpy passages in the book. But I didn't really mind it, something about her delivery and rhythm made it pleasant. As a reader, I found immense comfort in Sara's words. I was going through a difficult time recovering from an "almost" relationship/situationship, and the guidance provided in the book helped me on my journey of healing. When Jewel's first album, Pieces of You, topped the charts in 1995, her emotional voice and vulnerable performance were groundbreaking. In the tradition of Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell (she has been compared to both), a singer-songwriter of her kind had not emerged in decades. Now, with over 30 million albums sold worldwide, Jewel tells the story of her life and the lessons learned from her experience and her music. People hear the word ghosting and assume you walked away without speaking a word, that an explanation is always deserved. What about the situation where you’re constantly shut out and desperately looking to be heard, but they’re not there to listen?"

As soon as she mentioned Eastern Religions and meditating I should have burned the audiobook. I knew all this mess was just around the corner. I'm seldom wrong. Jewel learned NOTHING. I feel sorry for her. But what a great voice! But I can't listen to her albums... I tried. How I tried! Seriously, if you're grieving the loss of a relationship. Whether you were the one to walk away, or the one left behind. Read this. It will give you a brand new perspective of self-love; of how to love and be loved. The near corpse of a stranger had no idea where he’d been, how long he’d been there or who had kept him captive. But one thing intrigued journalist Lisa Jamison even more than his story: recent memories of a woman named Chandra Bower.Firstly can I just say I squealed in delight upon receiving this book. I had heard so many great things about it and wanted to read it myself. New York Times best-selling poet and multiplatinum singer-songwriter Jewel explores her unconventional upbringing and extraordinary life in an inspirational memoir that covers her childhood, rise to fame, marriage, and motherhood. Blah blah blah, Jewel eventually goes totally in debt and then fires Mommy (and doesn't talk to her again for about 20 years... maybe more?) and starts dating a Rodeo guy and then has a kid. Happy ending? Hell no. Jewel self-evaluates everything to DEATH and it most likely ruined her marriage (they're divorced. Seriously, no cowboy is going to listen to some crazy Bimbo wife meditate and evaluate every assumed mental issue in their relationship and how to connect over Cosmic Spirit-bonding...) and this crap is most likely about to poison her young son as well, but she's too clueless to see it. Then there's a 2 hour lecture (in the audiobook) on how to raise children and the positive effects of meditating like a useless brain-dead hippie and reading endless books by professor know-it-all's on self evaluation.

But this man had just seen her, sewing designer clothes in a dark, filthy basement with about twenty other men and women under horrifically inhumane conditions. And the sweatshop workers all had one thing in common: All were people of color. Lori Duffy Foster is a former crime reporter who writes and lives in the hills of Northern Pennsylvania. She is the author of A Dead Man's Eyes, the first in the Lisa Jamison Mysteries Series, and an Agatha Award nominee. Lori is a member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, The Historical Novel Society, International Thriller Writers, and Pennwriters. She also sits on the board of the Knoxville (PA) Public Library. Lisa Jamison, a journalist is just getting to her car, and inside she finds an emaciated man, Saul, who had just escaped from a sweatshop. He tells Lisa her story and she is intrigued and wants to help him and learn more and expose the owners of this sweatshop. She takes him to her friend Dorothy's home and enlists an ex-doctor friend to take care of him. I only read it because she occasionally talks about the music industry and meeting and touring with Bob Dylan.New York Times bestselling poet and multi-platinum singer-songwriter Jewel explores her unconventional upbringing and extraordinary life in an inspirational memoir that covers her childhood to fame, marriage, and motherhood. He holds meetings and retreats in the UK and Europe, clearly and directly pointing to the frustrations surrounding the spiritual search, to the nature of mind, and to the Clarity at the heart of everything. His uncompromising approach, full of humor and compassion, shatters the mind's hopes for a future awakening, revealing the awakening that is always already present, right in the midst of life. I am such a timid person that it is hard for me to imagine just how courageous some people are. Lisa Jamison, an investigative journalist and our protagonist, was willing to risk everything for her story and the pursuit of justice. Few books–least of all nonfiction–have this impact on me. This book actually shut off the bothersome noise of the outside world, and brought me to a good place. I took the better part of 5 months to read this book. I am so glad I did, because this manuscript is meant for savoring.
