About this deal

Follow the adventures of Bunting, an old toy cat, and his friends at the museum who come to life when the lights go out.

The children have been sequencing the story, retelling the story and explaining how specific characters feel. Read more about the condition New: A new, unread, unused book in perfect condition with no missing or damaged pages. The illustrations and names of the toys could be useful in a phonics lesson as alliteration is used by Lucas regularly and the fun aspect of the story would bring enjoyment to the learning experience. YOu ccould use the story for inspiration to create a Toy Fact File using one of the characters from this EYFS/KS1 picture book.Have a look at some of our pictures where you will see the children's freeze frames and samples of work. As he follows the trail of clues through the museum, the normally reserved Bunting learns how to have fun in this affectionate picture book from one of Britain's brightest new talents. In a geography lesson, a mapping lesson could be linked to the story of Buntings experience in following the clues the toys leave to lead him to their location.

Bunting, the old toy cat, has appointed himself the leader and has them lining up for inspection, checking their stitching and getting them to do exercises. Then they will learn the importance of the conjunction ‘and’ and how it is used to extend a sentence. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. One day Halibut Jackson receives an invitation from the Queen to a party at the palace and starts work on his most ambitious outfit yet, a bejewelled suit of silver and gold, which he thinks will go unnoticed amid the splendours of the palace. Sophie and Juliette both loved pointing things out in the pictures, even after reading the book several times. These toys are all based on examples of toys found over the last 100 years and highlighted in the fabulous book “Lost in the Toy Museum” by David Lucas. I really liked the imagery in this book because it was a bit more subdued in colour and you could see the other toys following to make sure the bear was having fun.
