As such I'm beginning to wonder if it might be wiser to get a standard cat flap and build a locking and curfew system around it using a Raspberry Pi (a small computer/microcontroller) some solenoids that can act as bolts and a motion sensor on either side to actuate the solenoids if the cat is allowed to go in or out, essentially doing the exact same thing as the sureflap when it comes to locking/unlocking.
