About this deal

It was structured around students creating and guiding their own creative pursuits, and to design a degree around that. The concept for Moon Lists was sparked by a random detail in a tiny regional magazine: a mention from photographer Sam Abell about a monthly question-asking, self-reflection ritual he shared with his wife. Having been subscribed to the newsletters for a while, we were delighted when we heard that founder Leigh Patterson was taking the concept one step further and turning it into a physical workbook.

If you can see a thing more as a whole you can better understand it or see that it’s beautiful, or necessary, or stupid. Originally this existed solely as an interview series, where I would ask different women to respond to prompts based on their last month. Observing inner life in this format can be useful for both addressing the specific (ie: starting a new project or addressing an emotional block) or more generally distilling the magnitude of ongoingness into tangible examples.Originally a newsletter series, the Moon Lists brings together strangers from across the globe each sharing a response to a series of personal questions and prompts.

I read about this book somewhere and thought the premise was great because the original idea that she took from a couple she encountered WAS great - what the author did with it however. One of my first jobs was working for an archivist where I’d spend hours buried in literary works where you felt the power of the what it means for something to be “made by hand”; the presence of the creator was palpable. I’ve kept some form of a journal for most of my life, but its format has evolved (the most current iteration of the digital Moon Lists is probably the closest to how it looks now, a combination of observations, lists, personal inventories). We are so excited to welcome our founder and director Olivia Crighton as a practitioner in the therapy room, where she will be offering a variety of healing services. profit from all purchases at She's Lost Control is donated to Crystal Clear - the social enterprise empowering artisanal mining communities.I am not great at balance in many ways but I think I am good at maintaining a healthy enough distance from this specific project… I do not feel any pressure to make it something it is not. The Moon Lists is a new way to journal: Filled with 18 months of exercises for breaking through creative, emotional, and transitional roadblocks, it introduces a routine practice of digging below the surface to explore parts of the mind that are new, unknown, and full of possibility. And while that seems like maybe a parent’s cliched nightmare-ish combo, today my work for Moon Lists and also for my studio LUCCA (aka my “real” job) touches on all these things. Abell, a celebrated National Geographic photographer with a 35-year career, now lives in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains.

As the moon cycles through its phases, you will be asked to check with yourself, once a week, to reflect on your recent experiences. The new book combines seamless design by Natasha Mead and meaningful content designed to guide readers through the practice of making a ‘moon list’ and experiencing life in a new way. Having some sort of self-preserving activity that isn’t working or looking at the news or scrolling on your phone, feels necessary to extract the differences between days. We're on a mission to give you more time for the things that matter most, while leaving this planet better than we found it. She has worked with a range of design-focused publications and high fashion brands, including Remodelista, Freunde von Freunden, Urban Outfitters, Sight Unseen, Shaina Mote, Apiece Apart, Wildsam Guides, Cereal, and J.It has helped me crystalize that the most obvious path is usually not the best one, and to hold that same standard of critical thinking across all projects and clients I collaborate with. Loosely organized around the phases of the moon and punctuated with references to ’70s astrology, architecture, and art, Moon Lists encourages journalers to stop and reflect on the precious moments in their lives before time passes them by. The size chart serves as a general size guide for helping you find your exact House of Woo and Uplifters Ranch size. Some of the things I collect are tangible and mount into piles of many layers and when the time comes to use those saved images I dig like an archaeologist and sometimes find what I want and sometimes don’t.
