About this deal

given the Scooby Doo trope, the characters could have easily avoided the whole ending had the multi-million dollar business tycoon asked himself “does this situation make logical sense? Before professionally turning his hand to writing, Shawn was a paratrooper, a pediatric therapist, and an engineer. I really wanted to love this book, I really did love little Bodie and even eventually big Bodie, It had a really good plot line. By far the most rewarding part has been being a husband to an absolutely amazing woman and father to two incredible children - now adults. As Leigh delves deeper into the mystery, she uncovers a web of organized crime and betrayal that puts her in danger.

The story is fast paced and moves from scene to scene, no long narration where nothing is happening. I enjoyed seeing Leigh’s growth throughout the story as well as her internal dialogue shift from the initial thoughts she had upon arriving at the manor. I’m a 49 year old woman who enjoyed harry potters, twilights, terry pratchetts discworld and this book was just the kind of I like. Their story was truly intriguing to read about as it felt so real and honest and I can’t say much else without giving it away. For a story about grief and internal struggles, it all boils down to an over the top action piece that I struggle to believe any 16 year old could actually go through. At one point the family friend made a comment about putting the MC over his knee and spanking her, that was so ick and made me cringe. There is also a typo, (the instead of they), which is a personal pet peeve of mine and probably doesn't bother other readers. When the police tell her the investigation into her parents' murder has hit a brick wall, she knows the only way she will ever know peace is to solve the mystery herself. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I especially liked the relationship that built between Leigh and the two versions of the ghost, it gave the characters good development.

Myra (19) describes going skinny dipping in a nearby river at age 10, which really didn't add to the plot and felt weird and unnecessary. It was just supposed to be, ‘Hey, here’s a fellow neighbor who’s just struggling and I wanted to help him out,’ ” Swearenjin later told Dallas’s WFAA. As Leigh and Max delve deeper, they realize that the key to unraveling the mystery lies within a long-lost artifact hidden somewhere within the manor.Warner, an Army veteran who has worked as a child therapist and later as a software engineer, had only recently decided to pursue his dream of writing full-time. Overall, I was excited at face value to read the book and support the author, but I think it's important that I put this out there even among the glowing reviews for this book. I was looking for a fun read to fill the gap between more intense and in-depth series that I normally read and I came across this book.
