After half an hour it does its magic and becomes a smooth well-rounded scent that is smoky, masculine and fresh.

Once it drys down it becomes a pleasant pineapple smell with a bit of woods which is a unique take on the aventus dna. All i can smell it lemon and i really want to like this fragrance but idk maybe its just my nose or this particular batch that i have. Although I don't hate this fragrance, I'm too lazy to respray it so often and go through the initial scent. EDT has some projection for about an hour and stays on my skin for about 4 to 5 hours, Pure parfum has almost non existent projection and just some more longevity.It does indeed smooth out the rough lemon opening of the EDT and the smokey magic of the dry down is still there.

It didn't take long before the smell of PP disappeared on my arm (I'm sure it was still there but very faint) but I could smell the smokiness and muskiness of the EDT still going strong on my right arm! The "lemon" smell isn't there anymore in the new bottle its more of a citrus smell that comes off a little strong for 5 minutes then it transforms into a smoky, woody and fruity scent which is absolutely lovely. I own the "Limited Edition" (with the graphite grey bottle, red lettering) which was an immediate "love at first sniff".

When I first got this bottle, the dry down reminded me of Sandalore and some kind of superamber, like amber extreme, it wasn’t pleasant. However, obviously it’s expensive, so this will be my new replacement for Aventus for things like that, or just less casual stuff. I don't want to get into a big analysis, but I would note that at the moment, it's like there are two similar but fundamentally different scents. After about 8 hours, I found the base notes to be ok, and yes, even a bit favorable, but this is certainly not a scent I will use again.

But when you have a company like Creed, who really isn't even the Creed it was, it's just a shadow of it's former self and someone else bought it and gonna just make a lot of money from the wave of greatness already created awile ago. I don’t have Creed Aventus before , but this one performing very good and I got many compliments when I wearing it .I learned more about fragrances and purchased few more and realised that I've been wasting a gem of a fragrance. Beware of going nose blind to this one to some degree, or otherwise being unable to accurately discern its strength with your own nose.
