Description

The first disc includes the anthems 'Hallelujah' and 'Love Shine A Light' before the massively popular winner 'Fairytale' from Alexander Rybak, and dance-floor fillers from Charlotte Perrelli, Gina G, and Dana International. A must have for fans who never hunted for import collections which other counties have proudly released for years, pity it took so long here. Condition - This item is in Excellent condition or better (unless it says otherwise in the above description). Flip the album over for a run of perfect Pop gems, including Loreen with ‘Euphoria’, ‘Popular’ from Eric Saade, ‘Wild Dances’ from Ruslana, Helena Paparizou and Eleni Foureira.

Celebrate the legacy with 36 songs across 2LPs – LP1 pressed on translucent red, and LP2 pressed on translucent blue vinyl. Note: it comes in a cardboard gatefold sleeve rather than a jewel case - not my favourite format to be honest, but it's nice and compact for the shelf! All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. One of the greatest singers ever, Céline Dion won the contest back in 1988 and leads Disc 3, which also includes ‘What’s Another Year’ and ‘Hold Me Now’ from Johnny Logan, plus Nicole’s well-loved ‘A Little Peace’. Flip the LP over for the final side which is all about celebrating the earlier years of the contest… the classic ‘Congratulations’ by Cliff Richard is leading the track-list.

Nice, the only thing that lets it down is the horrible cardboard sleeve which are so tight to get the cd out and edges that can scratch the disc. What lets it down a bit - and this is by no means unusual with Eurovision compilations - is the inclusion of many foreign language songs in their English versions. Sadly it’s just a cardboard trifold sleeve, no booklet or pictures, the contest has been quite the visual experience over the years, just to see the fashion and hairstyles over the years would have been fun! It has most of the hits that you would expect but there are a few that I suspect the record company couldn’t include like Cliff Richard’s Congratulations etc most probably due to licensing or copyright issues. A 5-LP box set presented in a rigid slip case, with the 5 individual LP’s, including track by track annotations on the reverse of each cover that include facts about the song, artist, and result at the contest. Over on side 2, Måns Zelmerlöw with ‘Heroes’ opens, followed by ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’ from Conchita, before two huge hits from 2022; UK runner-up ‘SPACE MAN’ from Sam Ryder, and the huge viral smash ‘SNAP’ from Rosa Linn.

and this incredible collection draws to a close with Domenico Modugno’s ‘Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu’, which would become a huge hit, often better known as ‘Volare’, and finishing with ‘Refrain’ from Lys Assia - the first ever winner from 1956. ABBA with ‘Waterloo’ followed by two of the UK’s all-time favourite winners from Bucks Fizz and Brotherhood Of Man… the first disc includes the anthems ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Love Shine A Light’ before contemporary favourites; Duncan Laurence’s ‘Arcade’, Måns Zelmerlöw with ‘Heroes’ and the stunning ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’ from Conchita – plus the massively popular winner ‘Fairytale’ from Alexander Rybak. Disc one concludes with KALUSH’s winner from 2022, Barbara Pravi’s ‘Voilà’ from 2021, Netta’s win from 2018, and Salvador Sobral from 2017. One of the greatest singers ever, Céline Dion won the contest back in 1988 and leads LP3, which also includes ‘Hold Me Now’ from Johnny Logan, and 4 more winning songs from Jamala, Marija Šerifović, Secret Garden, and the first of four 1990’s victors representing Ireland, Eimear Quinn with ‘The Voice’.However there is one glaring omission Celine Dion "Ne partez pas sans moi" 1988 winner for Switzerland, why? But that aside it's still a good collection of songs even if it's a little top heavy with UK entries some of them not our highest scoring entries. I really like this album as it manages to incapsulate the very essence of what the Eurovision Song Contest is all about.
