About this deal

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I’ve learnt new tools too, I particularly like the circle of influence- noting down what actions and circumstances you have influence over and which ones are outside of your control.

I have read many books on mental health but the author is so genuine and transparent, it was truly a joyful reflection experience for me.It was great to go over the basics again but also allow myself some time to reflect about my habits and attitudes. He is an op-ed columnist for The New York Times and appears regularly on PBS NewsHour and Meet the Press. He is a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Sunderland School of Medicine and was formerly at Imperial College London.

His focus on human connection, effective communication, and cultural excellence has led to significant transformational changes at both individual and system levels. My intention with this book is to put you back in the driving seat of your own health and wellbeing, and to show you how to take control and make incremental changes to your life that will last. His new book The Mind Manual teaches you how to assess your mental health today - and understand what's normal for you. It helped me make an important life decision because the author spoke about making his own decisions to protect his mental health.I have read a lot of self-help books to help me with my anxiety, but this book is different in the most helpful way. A positive, accessible and practical toolkit guiding young readers in how they can care for their mental health with confidence. In November 2021, presented his first full length documentary for BBC One and Children Need, Dr Alex: Our Young Mental Health Crisis. The author's goal of promoting mental fitness and advocating for it in many useful ways is admirable enough (4 stars), but this work quickly devolves into a concatenation of boilerplate life hacks (2 stars) citing dubious scientific underpinnings.

Dean Leak is a high-performing teams and leadership coach with an exceptional track record of success. This manual addresses the very modern health challenges of today's world - anxiety, social pressure and mental health, immune system health, how to be fit, flexible and eat well in a sedentary world, sexual health, gut health and more. Dean is an empathetic performance disruptor who believes in creating a culture of performance enablement, empowering individuals and teams to achieve their full potential. Determined to help her patients, Dr Gemma Newman has studied nutrition, psychotherapy and a wide range of holistic approaches alongside her medical practice. It has just the right amount of theoretical knowledge and studies without being overpowering to the reader.I am a self help book lover and what I love about this one is, it is so easy to pick up read something, it makes sense. This book brings together everything she has learned, in twenty years of clinical experience with six essential health prescriptions distilled into simple and free, daily habits.

As well as having practical tips and tricks to how to improve your mental health from the moment you open the book. In February 2021, Alex was appointed by the former Prime Minister as Youth Mental Health Ambassador to the government. Known to millions of fans as The Body Coach, Joe Wicks is the best-selling author of 10 cookbooks and the founder of Lean in 15. What you do consistently has a direct impact on your day-to-day health, your immune system, your mental health, your metabolism, your bone density, your heart health, your blood pressure, your energy levels and how you fight disease generally. It’s good to read also if you know someone who is struggling as it can give you more of an insight to how they are feeling. He also hosts his own radio show on Classic FM, Inner Harmony, which explores the relationship between classical music and wellbeing. There are some bits that I think are a bit fluffy and that I know wouldn't help with my anxiety, but you can certainly take what you need from this book. He has worked with gold medal-winning Olympic sports teams, Fortune 100 companies, the British Government, and C-suite executive leaders, helping them build healthy, high-performing results.
