The vast majority of stoves do not have a regulator valve, but you should check with your manufacturer as to whether or not your particular stove has a regulator valve.
A 16oz propane canister weighs 780g when full, about the same as two 8 oz backpacking gas canisters. Jetboil's pot support is compatible with all Jetboil systems except the Genesis, Stash and MightyMo. I had to file the melted bit at home very patiently with a metal file, to make it smooth and flush with the rest of the plastic base so it would fit inside the cook pot again. Here, a cozy might have actual value, particularly if one were to start (as I recommend) with a warmed canister.When I did my tests a few years back of the Whisperlite Universal, I was very impressed with its ability to simmer, particularly on kerosene. yes I could get a Coleman "camping stove", but I don't need 2 burners and it's bulkier to pack than the Minimo is. If the flame goes out, you've now got a highly flammable, potentially explosive gas rushing toward the red hot metal of your stove.
