She needs assistance to open two the locks right now which is great because she has room to grow into it.

Although the latches are metal, which may bother parents, if they were plastic or some other material kids wouldn't be as drawn to play with it. Yet, considering the Internet is a vast global platform and accessible to everyone, NeuroToys excludes any liability for data breach during its online operations.Oh yeah, and I sanded down the edges and corners to make them a bit rounder / safer for small hands. Once the paint was dry Sherry slapped on a quick coat of Acrylacq polyurethane to give it some added durability (it’s low-VOC and non-toxic so we love using it on the kid stuff that we make). But of course you could get a single board cut down to your desired size at Home Depot to avoid needing a jig at all for this project. Sensory and tactile elements of locks and latches are made of different materials to enrich the perception of small children. An excellent distraction to keep him away from testing the security of the safety locks in the kitchen, although I am concerned that his improved dexterity will lead to trouble once he learns how to open more things.

Unfortunately, one of the puzzle pieces was closed so tightly that his father had to pry it open with a screwdriver and has to sand it down quite a bit for it to work properly. Dressing Board – had all the types of closures that we use for clothes (zippers, buttons, snaps, velcro, hook and eye, shoe strings, etc.Unlock, unlatch, open the hinged panels, and count on finding fun when the pictures beneath are revealed! The wood piece shown above was just a scrap piece of plywood that we were using to temporarily figure out our desired board size. Even with older kiddo's I wouldn't let them play with it unsupervised because even an adult could pinch a finger with this particular latch. We’ll be visiting some of my cousins in LA in a few weeks and I’ve been trying to think of something we can take to the little ones (who are 2 and 3) that will travel well in our suitcase.

Bought this for my one-year-old granddaughter but when it came, I thought the 3-year-old would like it too.

I bought this puzzle for my grandson's first birthday because of the way my granddaughter played with her's non-stop. They snuggly fit so you my son really has to use some effort to pull them apart (even when he is correctly trying to unfasten the latch). My one year old is obsessed with opening doors, so we got this for him to hopefully keep him away from the ones that can pinch his fingers. It enables him to open and shut all the latches, and keeps us happy to cause he isn't always messing with all the other latches around the house trying to get into them.
