And there is an unnerving quality about it that leaves you thinking that, just maybe, this crazy world does exist somewhere in some dimension, and that we make wake up some morning and find ourselves in the "Twilight Zone" of Alice's Wonderland. The plot of both stories was also bizarre and all over the place, I struggled to keep up but am still impressed by what I could gather from it. The transitions were much more obvious, every chapter dealt with some sort of social/political/religious topic. Alice participates in a croquet game, in which hedgehogs are used as balls, flamingos are used as mallets, and soldiers act as gates. Decorative, durable, and collectible, these books offer hours of pleasure to readers young and old and are an indispensable cornerstone for every home library.

Through the Looking Glass begins the adventure anew when Alice steps through a mirror into another magical world where she can instantly be made queen if she can only get to the other side of the colossal chessboard. Ensimmäinen puolisko oli hyvin hämmentävä, kun tuntui että peräkkäiset luvut eivät mitenkään kertoneet samaa tarinaa. It received positive reviews upon release and is now one of the best-known works of Victorian literature; its narrative, structure, characters and imagery have had a widespread influence on popular culture and literature, especially in the fantasy genre. Pat's "Digging for apples" is a cross-language pun, as pomme de terre (literally; "apple of the earth") means potato and pomme means apple.

Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (1832–98), better known by the pseudonym Lewis Carroll, was an English author, mathematician, logician, Anglican deacon, and a photographer. The other day I finished reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and it's safe to say that it has become one of my most favourite books. It is accepted by you that Daunt Books has no control over additional charges in relation to customs clearance. This poor seven-year-old child has to maintain a polite, calm state of mind through all sorts of insult and injury.

The only sobering thought which kept recurring through the book was how Alice was not sure who she was anymore after being trapped in the Wonderland for so long.He wrote numerous stories and poems for children including the nonsense poem The Hunting of the Snark and fairy stories Sylvie and Bruno. This book contains photocopiable activities, guided reading notes, speaking and listening activities, writing projects and creative ideas – all from a bestselling, tried-and-trusted series that’s a firm favourite with teachers. It's been many years since I've read these stories, and I am surprised to find them both profound and hilarious.
