New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging . Our peat briquettes are perfect for creating that homely feeling you can only get with the scent of burning real Irish peat. Apart from the fact that they're quite heavy, briquettes are fuel and you may have difficulties with both airport security and customs.

This vehicle is usually able to travel wherever your rubbish collectors do when they make their rounds. They also burn at an extremely high temperature meaning the heat output is excellent considering their size. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag.

Unfortunately due to the smoke that is given off this type of fuel they are not allowed in all areas so it is advised to check if you live in a smoke controlled are before you make a purchase. Indead, I'll be travelling to Dublin in September and would like to bring some with me (I'm an addict of this smell).

We find that the briquettes burn very quickly so we build our fire with a mixture of briquettes and coal. Unlike wood that generally burns with a long orange flame our Irish peat briquettes burn with a short flame. Great tip about raking the ash before bed to try and cool it off - we may have to purchase a non-flamable bucket for our embers so we can scoop them out and then have peat multiple days in a row - so looking forward to that scent! In actual fact because they burn so easily, they can be a great way to light fires even if you only intend on using one to get the fire started and then proceed with another type of fuel. We have not used them for a while but I used let them cool completely for a couple of days then bag them and bin them.

Just don't have a clue where to find some in Dublin (we won't have a car and found an hostel close to Temple Bar).

We supply domestic, commercial and agricultural fuels throughout County Fermanagh and South Tyrone to the following post codes: BT74, BT75, BT92, BT93 and BT94.

These blocks put out a really good deal of heat and they burn for quite a long time, leaving very little residue behind. Closure was inevitable after a decision to end peat harvesting in 2021, yet its demise is six to 12 months ahead of schedule. We take pride in the knowledge that we can deliver you traditional Irish peat which cannot be matched by coal or wood.

We like our open fires, but I agree that coal is nasty dirty stuff which leaves the ash residue to be got rid of and it also increases the levels of 'dust' round the house.
