this book is without a doubt my new favorite by sarah. jessie and drew have a ton of chemistry and i couldn’t stop smiling through the entirety of the book. let me list the tropes because they’re my top tier ones: What happens when you have to play nice with your greatest enemy? Revenge. Drew Marshall may have let me move into his spare bedroom while my house is being renovated, but don’t think for one second his kindness comes without strings. Big, ugly, fake relationship strings. That’s okay, though, Dr. Andrew. I’ll agree to your terms, move into your house, and act like your girlfriend when the big day comes; but I also plan to make your life miserable–make you pay for what you did to me. Full transparency, this is one of those books I shouldn’t have read because I will be unfairly judging it based off the actual basis of the book I didn't love Jessie in the first book, but I thought maybe I'd like her more once I got into her head. Nope, I liked her even less. While some of the pranks she pulls are funny, some are mean and done with malice. She's a twenty something about to have a baby, but acts like preteen with her tantrums and whining. Drew isn't totally innocent and does play pranks too, but he also has moments where he's sweet to Jessie. Remembering foods she likes and doesn't, giving her massages when she's achy, caring about her health. I'm not sure how he put up with her ridiculousness. When pregnant Jessie needs a place to stay, Drew's mostly empty house is the perfect solution, but once again, it's an all-out war of unbelievable pranks that had me gasping, laughing, and even swooning. They've each met their match and it's game on.Crossword Bookstores draws book lovers of all ages into a community where they can discover great books, engage with booklovers and meet their favourite literary personalities. Review: The Temporary Roomie (Sarah Adams) - A Novel Glimpse

I think Sarah Adams would be right up your alley. They are all closed door romances. They are on KU. I don’t know if you use that service. If not, hopefully your library has one! Featuring ~ pregnancy, best friend's brother, sister's best friend, fake relationship, enemies to lovers, roommates to lovers, forced proximity, no steamage Only kissing, but lots of suggestive language about what they wanted to do. It wasn’t written poorly in my opinion. So many tropes and such great romcom moments keep this funny story from Sarah Adams moving swiftly. It’s the second in a series but works perfectly as a standalone. Underneath all the aggressive feelings, both Drew and Jessie are kind and silly for each other. It’s a fun and slightly ditsy read, perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon ❤️ Went from reading to skimming. This book was just not worth it. Here are my thoughts and they can be spoilery:

Immature characters. This sadly goes to Jessie again because god.. sometimes I forget she’s pregnant with all that’s happening. Also, the fact that she was 7 months pregnant, they only met for the first time when she was already pregnant (with someone else’s baby) and it ended up in a perfect HEA all within the span of 3 months… without a serious talk of what jumping into a relationship when she’s prego with someone else’s baby means… idk, bugged me a little. Wanted more in that area altogether. Jessie is starting to make sense to me, and she’s only becoming more beautiful as she comes into focus.”
