About this deal

I’m thinking about using my current single RT-AX92u wirelessly meshed with a tri-band RT-AC5300. Any comments or concerns regarding this setup? My Canon E480 wifi printer disconnected to any of the AX92U units after 1 week problem free usage. I had hard reset the printer, it just won’t connect. It manages to locate the SSID, asking whether to connect to one router or multiple routers, and I tried both, it just won’t connect. I tried another wifi printer, Canon E460, same issue.

I understand that no router will make my internet faster. This set up has run flawlessly for many years without issue. Now my internet drops even if it is just my wife and I gaming on our phones.

I want to be sure they each (2 networks, one for home, one for garage) produce 2.4GHz + 5GHz networks, and support WiFi6 devices.

So I’m interested in this model and wanted to know the best way to set it up with my current network. Currently I have ATT gigabit internet and have the BGW210 Modem/Router. I’m looking to add the RT-AX92U to the setup and I’m wondering if it’ll be any better for performance if I use the BGW210 in bridge mode (aka passthrough in the router settings) or if I just setup the AX92U as an access point. I ask because if I use it as an access point, it seems I will still get coverage from the original router (which is in my bedroom) which would help cover that side of the apt. The previous AC3100 had issues with randomly dropping a nearby Wyze doorbell camera which this one does not. Ironically the nearly decade old Samsung laser printer connected via wired network to the router now drops every few days, but I’m replacing the printer for them anyway so not a major problem. The one other device wired to the router is an Apple TV 4K gen2 and thats had no issues. There is also another little circle next to the binding circle where you can reconnect devices if you are having some sort of weird connection issue just FYI. The new firmware helped a ton. Not perfect, but way better. Reply You can raise these antennas upward for better coverage or collapse them on top of the router to make the whole thing even more adorable. Either way, the router works. By the way, the router is wall-mountable, which is always a nice touch. A little tri-band powerhouse

At its core, the RT-AX92U is like any other Asus router. You can set it up using its web user interface or the Asus Router mobile app. The actual transfer speed of USB 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, and/or Type-C will vary depending on many factors including the processing speed of the host device, file attributes and other factors related to system configuration and your operating environment. Thanks for the reply Dong. I’m not sure this is going to connect to your previous reply to my comment as there doesn’t appear to be a reply button under your last comment! Sorry if it lands out of position.
