All aboard! NBA 2K23 is ready to set sail on Current Gen consoles, and you don’t want to miss your chance to stay on this year’s luxury cruise liner. Last year, NBA 2K22 introduced an all-new Neighborhood, taking place on the Cancha Del Mar. The vessel sailed through uncharted waters, taking you and fellow hoopers on scenic excursions and hosting whale-sized events. The Neighborhood will once again call a luxury liner home in NBA 2K23, but the Cancha Del Mar has been replaced by The G.O.A.T. Boat. Every figure in this set is either completely new or has at least a new printing or change to an old design. As for our debut figures, there’s Gorr, the big bad guy of the movie, Valkyrie, and Mighty Thor, or Jane Foster. The Goat Boat’s size is also one of its most surprising traits, as the official photos don’t do the ship’s length justice, and it only dawns upon you when you’re building it that it’s quite a sizable model, which allows for plenty of playability with the minifigs included. Here’s a look at the stern on the bow of the boat – which has 2 grey serpents, and presumably The Goat Boat’s license plate, with NA (New Asgard) 021 on it.

Like any LEGO Super Heroes / Marvel set, the main highlight and drawcard of the set is the minifigures, and The Goat Boat does not disappoint at all in this department, with a perfect character lineup. Four trans-light blue thrusters underneath the hull further demonstrate the Asgardian influence on this vessel, although these are fairly subtle. Perhaps more interesting is how 3x4x3 curved panels create the bulging hull shape which characterises longships. As mentioned there’s plenty of space on The Goat Boat – all 5 minifigures can comfortably fit, with plenty of other room for activities. Rounding up the crew of the Goat Boat are the Korg and King Valkyrie minifigures, both of whom are exclusive to this set. Throughout the year, The G.O.A.T. Boat will receive cosmetic updates to match the vibe of each Season, keeping things fresh and festive. Courts will feature thematic designs and logos that will be updated for 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5. QUESTS: WHAT’S NEWKeepability [4]– This is a really great Marvel set, and if Thor Love and Thunder becomes a smash hit, this set will age very well Of course, it wouldn’t be a Marvel set if it didn’t have a red fire extinguisher! The cabin as a whole is quite basic, but I do like the design of the roof which uses long tiles to mimic Norse architecture. Oh, and the studs are of course useful for minifigures to stand on them.
