Lando got a nice cut in the points update, but it’s still a bit unclear exactly where he fits into the Rebel roster. Cassian has similarly useful command cards but a much better offensive profile, gives you access to K2, and is cheaper to boot. If you are bringing Lando, you want to be getting good use out of his Contingencies abilities, and it isn’t super clear how you are going to do that with the way that Rebel character lineup shakes out at the moment. Phase II – An upgraded corp unit that won’t panic as easy and makes most of their shots. What’s not like? The Desert Yellow, in a dropper bottle, is also applied via drybrush. This will build texture and apply highlight and contrast as well. Finally, apply another layer of white. Be sure to keep going in one single direction each time, or the texture will be odd. Painting Star Wars: Legion Rebel Troopers Final Step Fantasy Flight Games is happy to announce the Limited Edition Luke Skywalker Commander Expansion, available soon at your local retailer!

In October the Clone Wars set would come out, so things slowed down for rebels for the rest of the year while the new factions got more of a focus on unit releases to help bring them up to speed, so we won’t see anything new until next year. January 2020 – Rebel Trooper Upgrade Expansion, Luke Skywalker (Operative) and R2-D2 This expansion for Star Wars: Legion contains four unpainted, finely sculpted soft plastic Rebel Trooper miniatures to enhance your existing Rebel Trooper units or to form one corps unit, along with new heavy weapon and personnel upgrade options. [3] What, exactly, is a “skew”? Basically it’s something that asks a difficult question of your opponent (do you have a counter to armor, for example) and then leans hard into that question with redundancy. The classic example is a double heavy list; maybe your opponent has enough Impact to deal with one heavy, but not two at once. Or the old school triple Tauntaun list; perhaps your opponent could handle one aggressive creature trooper in their face, but what about three at a time?

Order Your Troops

Two options again, Tauns and Laser Cannons. Sadly the Tauns don’t have much support but they are your fastest way up the field, while the cannons play well with the command cards. Tauntaun Riders Mandalorian Resistance– Teaming these elite warriors up with OP Luke or Sabine can really create an aggressive front line for you list. Inferno Squad/Special Forces– These units are a fantastic add to your army especially when Iden is in the mix. Again, there is a lot of options when these boys are in play. I’m sure you’re familiar with the S through F grades inherent in tier lists, but we’re going to add a bit more nuance to those ranks:

Essentially, you want to pair them up with units that can offer useful keywords, add some Aim tokens to the pool, or let you throw lots of dice in the hopes of scoring more criticals. Keep your distance and StandbyLeia– You already have commander Luke and are ready for a little wonder twins action! Leia is an amazing support piece that plays well in a number of playstyles for the Rebels. Legion is a rapidly growing game and at the time that this article is written Atomic Mass Games just announced the next expansions to the game will be based on the battle for Kashyyyk. This expansion will introduce Jedi Master Yoda, and new Wookies units for that can be added to both Republic and Rebel armies, while Separatists will see Magnaguard and a Super Tactical Droid that can be played as a named character or a second generic character. All these units will come with new abilities to the game and grant each faction additional options while forming their strategy. With a growing community of fans and plays, Legion will not be going away anytime soon. This week we are covering factions: What play style does each faction have and what should I buy next? Within this expansion, you’ll find seven unique unpainted Rebel Veteran miniatures to add to your collection, including a Mark II Medium Blaster Trooper miniature that can be deployed as a detachment, offering valuable fire support to all of your units. Accompanying these miniatures are two unit cards, a selection of upgrade cards allowing you to outfit your veterans with new weapons and gear, and all the tokens you need to add them to your Rebel armies!

Commander Luke could still be solid in an Echo Base list, where you can still use Force Push to do some silly things with Hold at any Cost. Sabine Wren Faction-specific, which offer minor bonuses anyone in a given faction can use, but usually only affect specific units.Han, Chewie and the Tauntauns work as your vanguard. Up close they’re devastating and so you can move them more or less in unison (tauns might need to slow down a bit) so they can unleash fire upon the enemy up close. Scramble the Speeders

Airspeeder– If you want to grab an Airspeeder early (and who wouldn’t) that’s still fine. It’s a solid heavy unit that sees a lot of play since its buff. To get the most out of it however, you’ll probably want two. They can be difficult to hit but when they are, they go down fast so bring some redundancy. This is a lot of points, so your list is going to be leaning on these. Dooku– A master sith and a master of the battlefield. Dooku will really force your opponents hand while they are being buried in droid bodies. To prime, spray in short, controlled bursts while moving the can in one direction across the model. Keep the nozzle a good distance away from the miniature to prevent clumping on the mini. Let the mini sit for a few minutes until dry, then flip and spray the other side! Step 2: Base Coats The recon intel on the vets also allows for forward deployment of the MkII’s for some cheeky fire support shots. This is the WayOf course, sometimes you don’t have those points to spare or your command cards are already spoken for (maybe because you’re running Cassian and Ahsoka). Our old friend Gideon is here for you. He’s squishy, he only hands out one token, and his offense is laughable, but he’s reasonably useful and only costs 45 points. Chewbacca You may take one of these for each Rebel Veteran you take, and they’re generally worth it when the option is there. At 38 points it helps offset the cost of the Rebel Vet, and they’re excellent for establishing killzones. With Fire support they can throw extra dice into the pool of another unit, and it does not have to be the Veteran unit. Han, Leia or the Officer can add sharpshooter to the pool if they they fire together, for example. If there aren’t any good targets for them, it is wise to keep them on standby with their built in sentinel. Their chief role is to guard important zones. Support I’m not saying don’t do it, but accept you’re taking a risk. Plan your deployments accordingly. Corps
