The story line was a little on the far-fetched side, but I liked the constant shifting on who could have done the crimes. I can’t tell you what happens because it’s a major spoiler, but it’s not even kind of what you’re imagining - I can nearly guarantee it. I loved how they separated parts to show the killer's state of mind, what was going through their head.

You Can Trust Me: An absolutely addictive psychological

She hooks up with Julia’s latest boyfriend who is also doubtful that the vibrant and feisty woman he had dated would kill herself despite the fact that this is what her family believe.I love books that are set either on a cruise ship or a remote island, or somewhere secluded like a “locked room” type of thriller.

Recommend to crime fiction fans who enjoy a long line of suspects, and slower pacing with some psychological elements. I would have liked to have seen more of her husband Will however, I didn’t feel that I got to know him as he spent quite a lot of the story away from home on business, and sometimes came across as a bit “cold”. The events that transpire bring Livy back to 18-years earlier when her own sister, and Julia’s best friend, Kara was brutally murdered after a college party. Livy does not believe the police verdict that her friend, Julia's death is a suicide, and begins to investigate. This, too, can be an example of confirmation bias, in that we have specific ideas about what is involved in sexual attraction, and if we don’t feel those specific things, we assume (sometimes incorrectly) that attraction is not and will not be there.

I just found my attention never held, and there were other books I was favouring to pick up instead of this one. I do think some of the characters were done really well especially Livy's husband and Julia's brother. The characters were onpoint and brilliantly observed with realistic and compelling voices and snappy dialogue. After Julia’s death Livy starts to investigate, she is sure despite all the evidence that someone was involved in her death and she feels she needs to honour her friend’s memory. Sexual attraction is just one example of one of the aspects of a relationship that can grow as we learn whether or not we can, in truth, trust someone else.Once thought to have been the start of a good night turns out to be the opposite, souring Alana’s appearance of everything, especially the boys of a school in town that are, as she’s finding out, very intangible. McKenzie interjects the killer's perspective, and tidbits, offering readers a look into more dark sides of the personality and motives. Zak has found that the hormone oxytocin plays a critical role in signalling trustworthiness and is triggered by a wide range of cues, including subtle signals like eye contact, body language and even smell.

You can trust me: Five shortcuts to show that you’re for real

Julia is the friend Livy turns to for everything, the friend who has been through all the good and the bad, her link to her murdered sister. The plot was good and it certainly kept me guessing as I became convinced that it was one suspect, then another until fairly close to the reveal I worked out who it was. Esther Perel, the well-known and well-loved authority on relationships, once told an interviewer that trust between two people who love each other “is one of the most magnificent experiences one can have.Every good book has an ending that ties up the story whilst still making you think about the storyline.
