Description

Simpsons Monopoly is a themed version of the classic board game Monopoly, featuring characters, locations, and references from the popular animated TV series "The Simpsons. Simpsons Monopoly features the same rules as the original Monopoly but with the same attitude and humour of the show that inspires it. Made by The Footprints Company, this model of Homer carrying Marge in his arms is taken from the ending scene of the series one episode "Life in the Fast Lane" (which is a parody of a scene from An Officer and a Gentleman in itself).

Finding a sealed, good condition and complete collection of this holiday variant of Springfield's favorite family is a tough quest. When the Simpson family are trying to choose a game to play, they take a look through all of the different editions of Monopoly they own, which includes Edna Krabappoly.

The game is named after the economic concept of monopoly, the domination of a market by a single entity. Alongside the likes of Agnes Skinner and Denise Van Houten, the group was supposed to read Bridget Jones’ Diary, but Edna just angrily sat smoking.

We never found out what happened to her, but our sympathy for Ned (now a double widower) knows no bounds. Combine this with the rise and advancements video games and gaming as a whole made during the 90s, and it was a natural matchup waiting to happen. Pay the Banker if you land on the Legitimate Businessmen's Protection Tax (which replaces the classic Income Tax). The two very nearly got married after her marriage to Seymour Skinner broke down, but she eventually decides that she doesn’t want to marry either. The properties available for purchase in Simpsons Monopoly are familiar locations from around Springfield: Moe's Tavern, Krustylu Studios, the Kwik-E-Mart and the Nuclear Power Plant, amongst others.Pay the Banker in exchange for a Springfield property card, which shows the amount of money players must pay you if they land on your property. Burns, while saying he has a monopoly to maintain, also says he owns the electric company, the water works, and the hotel on Baltic Avenue, all of which reference properties that can be bought in the original version of Monopoly in the US (Baltic Avenue's equivalent in the UK being Whitechapel Road). Rent cannot be collected on mortgaged property although it can be collected for other properties in that color group. Due to the volume contained within the product itself, sets like the Collector's Set and interactive environments are naturally worth more than a standalone figure.
