When I reach the island, the first person I see is the one I’ve seen in my nightmares too many times. He complains about how the job is stressing him out but apart from telling us this, it isn’t shown in any other circumstance. at the end i was in physical pain when kat wouldn’t let him explain what happened during cece’s party. Kat I feel I’m getting to know better with her trauma in Thailand which I enjoy getting a backstory on her. It’s been months since Trent Wilcox was sentenced to exile, but Kelsey hasn’t given up on finding a way to bring him home.I did like this book more that the second one (this is number three) but I still didn’t really like it. Humans have now entered a new reality, one where the US and Europe no longer dominate, one where only 30% of the world isn't dealing with nuclear fall out.

Not just dystopian dark, but the "romance" between the two main characters starts off with hate and angst and for some triggering reasons, if you have triggers, be aware that some content could he triggering for you. Or are you all just sexist and as long as a selfish hypocrite judgemental manipulative narcissistic bitch gets what she wants you all are cool with it?I don't think I'll read the previous two books in the series but I definitely want to read the fourth and last book to know how it all ends and if it's a happy ending for Kat and Archer! It felt like the only plot development happened at the end when the author wanted to end on a cliffhanger. It was angsty and steamy and lexi has a way of ending the story on a cliff in such a way that makes me mad that i have to wait but also not. I didn't think I would care about the cliffhanger that I knew was at the end but this book sucked me in and now I would very much like to continue the series.
