About this deal

I wish this could be used as a fanny pack, like other Osprey reenactment lids, but it's not made to. Having a good ventilation system in place allows you to stay as cool and dry as possible, even when you are working hard.

If you are not planning to do any serious hiking trips, then you could go without the Osprey rain cover. This system is used in the complete Exos series and in some other Osprey’s series as well, like the Stratos series.UOG TOP PICK - Montane's Trailblazer 44 Rucksack -A cross between a running vest pack and a backpacking rucksack. There are mesh pockets on the sides for water bottles and there's a hydration slot for water bladder if you prefer that. As we touched on above, Osprey’s Exos has been a popular ultralight pack choice for years, and one of its closest competitors is Gregory’s Focal 58. That is the Exos backpack, and in this review we will take a look at the Osprey Exos 38 and Exos 48 variants of it.

The frame distributes weight with ease, and the shoulder straps and waist belt offer more padding than most. If you’re coming from the world of ultralight packs, the Osprey Exos 58 might seem to have an unnecessary amount of padding and support (it actually presses into the lower back); on the other hand, those accustomed to a traditional backpacking pack will find that the Exos offers a similar experience in terms of carrying comfort (but at a much lower weight). The Exos is a great backpacking rucksack that has all the features you would expect to see on a technical pack double its weight. On the trail, the metal structure helps eliminate sagging—a common complaint in the UL pack market—and the well-padded shoulder straps and wide hipbelt do a great job spreading out the load.Instead, I recommend getting a Talon 33 or Talon 44 it weighs about the same, has similar carrying capacities, and most importantly folds down absolutely flat when you need to pack it in the bottom of a suitcase.

Exos 38L - Ultra-Light Technical Multi-Day Pack - - Osprey

The Exos is a great backpacking rucksack that has all the features you would expect to see on a technical backpacking rucksack double its weight.

Tighten them until you feel the top part of the pack rest against your pack, over tightening them will create excessive pressure on the front of your shoulders. If the back length of the pack is correct the shoulder straps will be flush to your shoulders whilst the hipbelt sits in place comfortably. For example it's very easy to strap a camp chair or your tent to the outside of the pack so it doesn't take up storage space in the main compartment. I am a big fan of this feature as it makes it easy to drink your water (it would be a mistake to put beer in your reservoir) during the hike. We also reviewed the women’s Eja 58 and found it to be a good match for minimalist adventurers ( see our in-depth review).
