About this deal

I liked the rhymes and thought it would be a good baby book as well as a good book to start learning how to read with should it last that long. Never Touch a Dinosaur, by Rosie Greening, is such a fun book to read to younger elementary students. We purchased this book for my 10 month old daughter and she is obsessed with the textures on the pages of this book, and especially the cover. I want to highlight something material, delicious, or an experience or activity that brought me or my family joy.

Story is meh (I feel defiant about all these no animal touching statements 🤣) but the silicone textures are great. Since sometimes as a parent you are reading a book upside down, that can be different when your eyes have to adjust to a bunch of different fonts, especially when some are curly and weird or in block letters. The sensory elements in this book are a little underwhelming, but my daughter still really enjoys it.

That said, I have bought this book for others because of how much my kid enjoyed it and I found it to be superior to the other touch books my kids had (both in story and in quality). I do wish there was just a bit more to the story but there are a lot of days that I really appreciate the brevity. All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you!

I solved the issue by reading the awkward claws/doors rhyme like someone's chain-smoking Aunt Zelda from Bawston. The rhymes make a lot more sense when you realize the author is British, but if, like me, you're an American, they can still be quite clunky. The illustrations are super cute, the story is fun and the tactile pieces provide a different sensory experience for kids than other sensory books. While illustrations are 5+, the text often has choppy rhythms that are sometimes awkward to read and while there is occasionally a bit of rhyme, the authors do not seem to work very hard at finding synonyms that might actually provide that component.

We work closely with publishers and authors to ensure that we offer the best books on the market for your child. It talks about the illustrations as well as how you should probably go the other direction instead of touching a dinosaur of any type. This was my son's favorite book for many months, because he absolutely adores the textures, especially the ones on the front cover. All kidding aside, a really cute book and one that my 9-month-old actually pays attention to because he wants to touch all the cool dino-skins.
