About this deal

No need to waste precious time looking for your headphones, untangling cables or powering up external monitors.

This latest revision of the Live hardware shows that MPCs aren't being phased out in favour of the Force; the two will run in parallel, and might hopefully cross-pollinate in cool ways. The plugins are great starting point if you don't have a lot of hardware or you don't have them near you. An amazing array of plugin ranging from Drum synth, polyphonic VA, macro synth, E-piano, and some beautiful recreation of Odyssey, Mellotron and Solina.Have you found the perfect 808 sample in a drum program and wish you could play it across the keyboard to match the notes of your song? Simultaneously connect and route all the MIDI gear in your studio including class-compliant USB Keyboards, MIDI interfaces, and USB to CV modules to supercharge your I/O connectivity. I've generally found the red outline on the screen to work fine for showing what the encoders are controlling, but the new version adds a graphical overlay that pops-up when you touch the encoders.

The MPC software is the same across all current MPC hardware models, differences only arising in terms of hardware specifics, and they can all use the 2.Under the hood, MPC Live II Retro includes the same multi-core processor as the MPC X, with every mainstay you demand from a modern MPC. MPC Software 2Akai Professional's reimagined MPC 2 Software drives MPC Live II Retro in both standalone and controller modes. It won’t be long before some imaginative artist purchases a Live II and uses it to build an entire album – without using headphones. All MPC expansions are fully optimised for fast loading in standalone mode and come with easy to install drag and drop installers.

New Chord Progressions: MPC now contains five extra chord progressions that can be used in Pad Perform > Progressions mode. You could have a whole live set loaded up, but memory puts a limit on this for now, especially if you want to use audio tracks. They can be used to transfer files on and off of the MPC Live, as extra storage, and as input for USB MIDI controllers. Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and packing 16 gigs of on-board storage, the MPC Live features numerous ways to take your beloved sample library and MPC sessions anywhere. As you can tell by the name, AIR Mellotron is a software recreation of the iconic tape-based keyboard.

The better your problem and question is described, the easier it is for other AKAI owners to provide you with a good answer.

Their inclusion on a professionally built MPC unit is certainly novel – and we couldn’t wait to try them.
