I really liked the premise of this story, and although the first half felt a little slow-paced, primarily following Zoe around as she interacts with her boss, her family and her friends, the plot was intriguing and the tone delightfully sinister. I loved Mackintosh's debut novel 'I Let You Go'and was thrilled to receive a copy of her newest novel.

Subsequently, she was promoted to a police inspector in January 2008 and she held that position until September 2011 when she sought a career break. To sum it all up it was an entertaining, mostly enjoyable, suspenseful, steady-paced, quick and easy read with a twist ending.The really picks up and the angst and eagerness to find out who, what, when, where, and how everything unfolds. I liked how the feeling of paranoia grows throughout the novel, and suspicion is cast on many people within the protagonists life, increasing her anxiety and leaving her with no one to trust.
Millions of people commute to work everyday, and the idea that someone could be watching you is eerie and unsettling.The early network was built in shallow tunnels and needed many vents to allow engine smoke and steam to escape. A fabulous psychological thriller with a few twists and turns near the end, especially the very end. She could ask them to pay rent, but she knows they’d then never be able to save for a place of their own.
