About this deal

i like how we still got to know parts of the other characters’ pasts, even though this book was told from sam’s perspective. i had previously halfway read another of lancali's works on wattpad, but quit it for the same reason i did not enjoy this book: it reads like a tumblr inspiration board that miraculously made it through editing. I think the worst feeling in the world is telling someone you’re in pain and hearing them say there’s no wound. C nearly breaks his bottle by stepping on it, while Neo and I toss our cigarettes so fast we almost set each other’s hands on fire. But I’m guessing his stares have more to do with the breathing tubes trailing the space under her nose and around her cheeks.

There’s tragedy, there’s romance, there’s mystery, there’s humor, and lots of Shakespeare references. Seeing their struggles and what became their day to day life was heartbreaking, but the emotions, everything was so raw and real and the author didn't shy away from the realities of what the characters were going through. Hikari quickly becomes part of the group and part of their ultimate plan to escape the hospital and live their lives.I Fell in Love with Hope, a romantic and touching novel that will bring tears of sadness, joy and laughter, where unexpected twists and turns, painful scenes but also full of intense love will not be missing. As the story progresses, we see Sam go from an empty soul to a person who’s filled with hope once again.

Gdy dostajemy go przez całą książkę, nawet gdy nie jest zanadto potrzebny traci tą siłę przebicia i najzwyczajniej w świecie ciężko się to czyta. Sam takes her to the garden for a final picnic, where he tells her what he told his lover Sam so many years ago.Diagnoses, pills, needles, and so many new mirrors they never meant to find encroached on their lives. I didn’t mention it in my review because it was a whole other can of worms to get into, but it’s not good, and frankly harmful. I really liked her character in the first half of the book, but as the plot really took a turn and we started nearing the end, I started to have more and more mixed feelings on her character. I will definitely read it over and over again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a book that will make them cry. Once we reach the top floor, C picks up Neo from his chair, cradling his skinny frame, careful of his spine.

Their illnesses managed to take away their hope, their will to live, their freedom, their peace and tranquility. They have all been there for each other on the good and bad days, the surgeries, treatments, meals, stealth missions, and adventure. This book has officially made its way to my top favourite book, yes I love it even more than a little life. While it’s clear the author has a lot of passion and poured their heart into it, on a craft basis, it’s not where it needs to be. They’ve been “alive” since the birth of the hospital, and they still retain their memories of that time.every line was just so "quotable" for no reason and it was so annoying, bc no teenager speaks like that! wanted to refrain from reviewing because i know that the author has based this book on personal experiences and it felt insensitive, but i think it's more insensitive to hold back on a negative review because of the author's experiences. The narrator Sam desperately tells his lover Sam his biggest secret in an attempt to stop the suicide—that he is not a real person, but rather a concept about the hospital that takes a physical form.

So dear reader, get ready to cry, laugh, get frustrated and feel the emotions of each character in your own flesh. Neo and I watch as Sony marches to the front counter, her dirty white sneakers squeaking against the tiles. Neo goes so far as to pretend he’s browsing for chewing gum by looking at the ingredients on the back. Lancali’s novel tackles difficult topics relevant to the 21st century teenager—such as mental health, chronic illness, strained family relationships, and the loss of loved ones.

Yet at the same time, while trying to raise awareness about chronic illness, Lancali also just succeeded at demonizing them. actually, i do know lol but the fact is, i rarely ever give 1 star ratings/reviews but this book was plainly so absurd?
