Philippe17/09/2020I bought this keyboard in Mar2014, exclusively for work (I'm a programmer), 2 years after I got a blue switch model for home. Don’t get me wrong, the box is made with good quality, strong cardboard that should hopefully protect the keyboard whilst in transit, it’s just a bit boring in terms of the unboxing experience. Being familiar with Cherry MX switches, I would like to commend other aspects of this keyboard; the design is very slick and the keycaps are marked with beautifully printed characters.This was expected though and I quickly replaced them with some Tai-Hao doubleshot ABS keycaps which feel and look great. Unfortunately, it has a severe acoustic issue: every time any key is struck, there is a pretty severe "pinging" sound. Jacek Brant17/11/2020This is a wonderful keyboard and I can't believe I'm writing this, worth every penny. I purchased this keyboard in July of 2019 for use at work, and I have been using it almost every day now for 3. It doesn't have any fancy bells or whistles; there's no media keys, no pass through USB ports, and certainly no RGB back-lighting. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.The solder pads go through the holes drilled in the board and the PCB is also more heat-resistant to allow for better initial soldering. I got it with the Cherry Brown switches which are great in a crowded office; not as noisy as the Blues but just as pleasant to type on because of the tactile bump (in my opinion. I selected this keyboard as I do use a numeric pad but not very much and so the extra desk space is useful as my hand has to travel less to reach the track ball. Was starting to get some rsi issues with my previous keyboard but feeling better using the Majestouch-2.

I mainly use my keyboards for programming and technical writing so RGB lighting and gaming macros were not a factor in my decision making. The Cherry Red MX’s aren’t all that loud but they do feature a nice audible clunk when a key is pressed, this keyboard can be used in a quiet office. I agree with a comment made by another reviewer that it would be nice if the USB cable were detachable, so that in the odd occasion that it needed to be transported, the keyboard itself could be packed securely without damaging or bending the USB cable. I have a backlit CODE keyboard at home with Cherry MX Clear switches and wanted something similar for in the Office. Of course, today, there are plenty of high-quality keycaps that utilize various methods such as double-shot and dye-sublimation.In addition, the Majestouch 2 isn’t about its looks, and this is a keyboard that focuses on performance. Since the release of the Majestouch 2, Filco has released countless variants and improved components, such as their PBT Double-shot keycaps. In a time where every other mechanical keyboard manufacturer is focusing on cost savings, LED light shows, and macro keys, FILCO brings the industry back to its roots with a no-frills design, with a focus on a high-quality production that you can feel.

I don't think I found one review or video or post that didn't express that linear switches weren't hateful for anyone who types a lot. The PCB has been made out of a more resilient material that is better suited to the physical stresses of being typed upon. This article was written as a team collaboration, combining our knowledge and years of experience using, building and modding keyboards.And just like the original Majestouch 2, the Majestouch 2SS is available in both a full-size and TKL variant. If you have never heard of this brand, then you better start learning everything you can about their high-end keyboards. I have been using apple keyboards all my professional work time and have never expected what it means to work on a keyboard that is as heavy and rigid as this one! Anonymous09/11/2018I wasn't sure what to expect given that I had been using keyboards that came with the dell workstations I've purchased over the years but the filco majestouch 2 I purchased from keyboardco is a completely different beast, so well made, nice and heavy so it won't move around my desk too easily and, yes, the keys really do make typing a pleasurable experience (i can't believe I said that but it's true), and it works faultlessly through my old KVM. I wish a replacement frame were available since I originally cleaned my keyboard with isopropyl which eroded the surface of it to keep everything completely replaceable, but other than that, this is a keyboard that feels like its going to live forever.
