About this deal

If a personal pizza party is more your style, or you don’t have a lot of storage space, this pizza stone from ROCKSHEAT packs a punch for its size. This stone is a great option if you're dabbling in the world of grilled pizza, but most other users will get better benefits from one of our other rectangular picks.

The temperature of the stone will drop when you add a cold (room temperature) pizza, and will therefore not be hot enough to make more than 2 crispy pizzas right after each other. The results will yield delicious artisan breads that will closely resemble bread made in a brick oven. The instructions add that you should flip it over to the other side when next using to burn off any excess flour. A trick to avoid cooling the pizza stone is to place each consecutive pizza on the opposite side of the stone.

Ease of Use: I frequently moved the stones in and out of the oven using oven mitts, and with my bare hands when the stones had cooled down, noting how easy and comfortable they were to move. We would recommend this product for bakers who like to use their baking stone for things other than just pizza. Some were functional, while others were lovely items you’d be pleased to have hanging around your kitchen.

Another thing you can do to improve the baking is try to get the pizza stone even closer to the broiler than the top rack. Its rectangular shape provides a large work surface making it an ideal choice for working with different foods like breads, cookies, biscuits and more. The most common mistake I see people make when they’re baking pizza on a pizza stone is to not preheat the stone. I don’t recommend reducing the heat to a safe level, since the pizza will not bake properly at 430°F (220°C).

It is much softer than sapphires and is abundantly found in Australia (Northern Territory), Brazil, Burma, Canada (Yellowknife area of the Northwest Territories), India, Madagascar, Namibia, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and the United States (Connecticut). It’s not stipulated how best to clean this stone, but as it’s porous cordierite, we’d suggest using the brush method and never soaking it. Pizza stones absorb moisture, help develop a crisp base, distribute heat evenly and retain heat, ensuring your pizza is perfectly cooked.

A cheap pizza stone can run as low as 10 or 15 dollars, so even if you just use it a few times, it doesn’t make your pizza much more expensive.
