About this deal

It was a peak behind the curtain into an area where only friends and family were normally permitted. Ambient/Techno fans will find that this compilation scratches an itch as Tycho provides an exhilarating release. For my Back To Mine album I wanted to take things one step further than one of my club or Burning Man sets as I knew this was an opportunity to enter that whole headphone, other worldly, cinematic, soundscape space.

Fav Albums: In Rainbows, Achtung Baby, Disintegration, Funeral, Sea Change, Holy Fire, Nobody Wants to be Here and Nobody Wants to Leave. and it came out when The Orb were going through a rather patchy period involving various collaborators.Dave is criminally underrated, and this mix shows he is one of a few that can do both chilled and banging with equal brilliance. The copyright in this sound recording is owned by Loud Records LLC under exclusive license to Epic Records.

For Scott Hansen however it was all about graphic design, drawing and photography until a friend at college gave him some damaged audio equipment. Review:We're used to hearing Horse Meat Disco set the peak of the night alight with their fierce and fabulous route through disco, house and Italo, but what happens after the dance? Then head to Broadgate’s newest opening, Back To Mine, located right next to the green space of Exchange Square. Apparently Nick is only known for playing bangign stuff, and this release shows there's much more to him.

If you love chill out, Café Del Mar and blissfull emotional chill out comps then this is one of the best. Next in the compiler hotseat for seminal mix series ‘Back to Mine’ is the legendary DJ and producer Fatboy Slim. The sonics are almost a dream sequence as the album moves through the various moodscapes that Tycho is renowned for creating.

One of the first highlights is Tycho’s interpretation of Nate Mercereau’s “Of Course That’s Happening”, with its brilliant edgy jazz horn. Each artist gets to present you with their favorite songs, as they would play them for you at an after hours party. This is a great compilation, like that friend who has a better record collection and deeper knowledge and range of music in his or her listening pallette. I really like his Global Underground stuff (check especially his Amsterdam set on GU 18), but this is something special.Beautiful but not cheesy, rare records but not boring, with the emphasis on tracks themselves, not DJ skills ruining records.
