Cable is strong and thick, non detachable cable isn’t/wasn't a big deal breaker for me, still compared to 7xx series, 612 uses lesser quality materials (plastic, leather headband) and can gradually loose the elasticity of the auto adjusting headband mechanism over time. Few tiny components attaching the headband to the rails don’t inspire confidence to throw them carelessly in a backpack – better just keep these headphones in the studio. La construcción, con respecto al K612 Pro, es mas "Pro"; mejores materiales y detalles, y la diadema que apoya sobre la cabeza, SÍ que es de cuero en contra del 612 que es de cuero sintetico como expreso en la reseña. Lacks bass - I don't think so at all, its crisp, clear, fast and punchy bass that doesn't muddle the rest of the music. The K612 is very slightly harder to drive – requiring slightly more volume to get to the same SPL – but on the iPhone actually sounds a little better (still missing bass and lower mids though).

If I was keeping these, I’d still probably remove the bumps – and replace the underside with soft leather (I did it with my old K701s – just soft Lamb leather and a glue gun – easy). It has allowed me to learn a lot about my own preferences, and also allowed me to spend considerable time with some good, some great, and some not-so-good cans. In terms of sound signature preferences I like more mid centric headphones with tight, accurate bass (quality over quantity). El amplificador de cascos debe ser lo suficientemente poderoso para lidiar con cualquier tipo de auricular. The K702 with 8 bumps at least isn’t pushing right at the apex of my skull on a single bump – now it’s shared by 2 (take that as you will). The K612 being 120 Ω doesn’t mean it should be driven from a 120 Ω amplifier but it does change its sonic signature slightly on a higher output resistance.

Both the K702 and K612 Pro fit pretty snug on my head and although a lot of it is plastic - they always feel relatively solid to me. But I think more people will prefer the sound signature of the K612, it works better across more genres. The K612 is right up there with the the K7s, but WITHOUT the angled ear pads and headband bumps of the K701/K702/Q701, and a harder padding than the memory foam on the K702 Annies and K712. My opinions outside of Audeze related topics are my own and should not reflect Audeze in any capacity.if you listen to powerful piano playing like Alicia Keys, the K612 does an excellent portraying a sense of sound of low notes she plays.

Needs an amp - not on my iPhone SE 2022 and 2018 macbook pro, but yeah, i max out the volume on both. Aside from a small correction of the microphone itself also some correction in the lowest frequencies is applied to the plots to compensate for the perceived loss of bass when using headphones. It is slightly more obvious that the treble isn’t really that resolving and smooth though but more pleasant to me than when in original form. The auto adjusting headband design used on the K612 is a unique feature to AKG taken from the K701/Q701. It's hard to explain but all the little nuances in vocals and stringed instruments are brought out a bit more. When you first wear the headphone on your head, after 5 minutes, force on your ears might be a problem especially if you have glasses. However that suits me fine as I find headphones that are very adept at sound-staging somewhat artificial in their representation of the music, not really true to life at all. Detailing is good and there is enough ''dark'' sounding for the genre while guitars sounded bright like the vocal.

The K-612 sounds clear and transparent, with effortless performance even in the very low bass regions, but the high frequencies are smoother and less aggressive than on the K-701.

I have had fairly good results with damping the treble on some headphones using felt in front of the driver and it appears as though this headphone reacts well to this treatment as well. The headphone is very light and the clamping force of the earpieces is fairly gentle, the leather headband sits gently on the head too, and the cushions which are soft and pliant don't cause (me) any irritation.
