Like all our products, Elan DAB+ was designed and engineered in the UK by Pure’s expert product teams. SpecsWith DAB selected as a source, we were able to tune in a plethora of digital radio stations in under a minute, each one with scrolling text and other station information nicely presented in a compact and colourful way. From a sound quality perspective, the Elan E3 excels. Despite a compact form, this product from Pure delivers exceptional volume and clarity. Simply connect your smartphone, laptop or tablet devices to Elan One to use as your personal wireless speaker. Stream your favourite playlists from any app in high-quality digital sound. Pure Evoke Play is a portable, battery-powered music system that will happily accompany you all day long: From your al-fresco breakfast to a picnic in the park or a barbecue on the sports field - you can use anything from a DAB radio or FM receiver to Spotify Connect or Bluetooth Speaker for your smartphone to prove that the best playlists are yours. And even if they aren’t, the Pure Evoke Play, our compact sound marvel, will play along anyway. Given that the Elan E3 is a small mono radio, you can’t expect too much from the sound quality. The sound is clear and is good enough for casual listening, but there isn’t much depth to it. The radio is fine for listening to speech programmes but isn’t so good for listening to music.

Elan One is the practical and contemporary radio from Pure, with DAB+ and FM allowing you to listen to all your favourite radio stations in crystal-clear quality. The vibrant colour display and simple controls makes accessing stations and using Elan One a joyful experience. Truly versatile, with the option of being powered by USB or battery, Elan One can be enjoyed anywhere in or out of the home.We selected DAB and it immediately tuned-in dozens of stations, presenting them in a linear list that was easy to scan through. Each channel features a colourful display that shows an icon and scrolling text, although the text is reduced to a size where most of it can be presented at once. The Pure Elan Connect’s design is unlikely to catch the eye. While other manufacturers of DAB radios deliver retro designs or opt for post-modern use of wood panels, the Pure Elan Connect’s shell is plastic. On the positive side, this means it’s extremely lightweight at 438g – although the four AA batteries you’ll need to make it portable will increase its bulk.

Saying that, digital radio overage worldwide still isn't as extensive as AM/FM radio - but that's only because analogue radio has been around for longer. DAB radio will soon catch up. Do DAB radios come with Bluetooth?We make sure to test each model in a range of environments and against its chief competitors too, so you can be sure that the product will work just as well in your home, in whichever spot you've chosen to put it. We live with these radios in our homes to make sure that the performances are consistent, and we don't finalize our testing until we are certain of the sound quality. The manual for the Pure One doesn’t list a way to display the serial number. We’ve tried on our One Mi Series 2 and can only see the software version and the device identifier. If you still have the box for the radio the serial number may be displayed on the outside. DAB and DAB+ radios with Bluetooth by Pure

Stereo reproduction appeared to be accurate on FM, DAB and with Bluetooth, even though the radio has a single speaker. Not all DAB radio stations are broadcast in stereo and this would explain why some stations are still in mono when using headphones.
