Clean up any resin that has dribbled through to the outside of the repaired pole using abrasive paper. The kit includes all of the necessary materials and equipment to repair a carbon fibre fishing pole and requires only competent practical skills and a couple of hours of your time to repair your broken or fractured fishing pole or rod so that it is as strong as it was before the damage occurred. We use a high impact absorbent foam for our safety pads and post padding. This is a closed cell foam which manages the impact extremely well. The cells are separate from each other and this in turn traps the air. The foam is also impervious to bacteria, mildew and rot. PVC fabric material

Our column covers are available in 8 ft. or 4 ft. lengths andeasily cut to fit your exact column size. Choose 12 in. width size for a standard 3 in. or 3½ in. diameter pole. Use 16 in. width size for 4 in. diameter poles. Available in Red Oak, Light Maple, Cherry and also MDF that is best for paint finishing. Using some of the abrasive paper (120 grit) ‘key-up’ the inside of the broken pole so that the surface is clean and scuffed ready for the repair to be applied. There is a choice of attractive colours (currently 16) to choose from and you can mix & match the colours or have stripe coloured post protectors which look amazing and original! Attaching Propads post protectors When it comes to attaching the product the most common method we use is Velcro attachments, sewn onto the padding. Next, slide the good tube (wrapped with wet carbon) inside the broken tube, aiming to leave the repair bandage positioned correctly underneath the damaged area of the pole. Select another section of pole that fits comfortably inside the broken pole, possibly not the next pole down ensuring that there is at least a 0.5mm – 1mm gap between the pole you select and the inside of the broken pole when you put the other section inside the broken pole.

Despite the strength and durability of carbon fibre fishing poles and fishing rods, fractures or complete breaks in the pole do happen from time to time.

Application for Pole-Wrap Models

If you can't see any 'weave pattern' like small squares in the professional repair then it's likely they've used a unidirectional carbon fibre reinforcement, rather than a woven reinforcement. It would be possible for you to use this same reinforcement in your home repairs, in fact we do sell unidirectional reinforcement, although there would be some extra considerations if you use this format of reinforcement. Wrap the rod with the special 90g ProFinish plain weave carbon fibre fabric, applying additional resin as you go. Our safety padding is manufactured to be used indoors or outdoors with the ability to be easily attached or removed as required. The PVC fabric is completely waterproof and the surface can be wiped clean if necessary. Using the measurements of the posts we design the post protector to be round, square or rectangular to fit properly. We also design custom made shapes.

What you’ll need to do is make the repair on the inside of the tube. This is a little bit different but still perfectly possible. Follow these steps: Our safety pads are used by schools & nurseries, sports centres, large national companies, small offices, equestrian centres, the NHS and practically any place where safety is of paramount importance giving everyone peace of mind. Once cured, twist the good pole to remove it from inside the repaired pole. The pole should come out from inside the shrink tape. Next, remove the shrink tape from the inside surface of the repaired pole.Please note that Pole-Wrap is not a structured split column. It is a pliable sheet of decorative woodthat is applied over existing structural support columns.Our productsare pre-sandedand ready for finishing. Use an oil, alcohol or lacquerbased primer for ourMDF models and finish with any paint of your choice to matchdecor.
