About this deal

I routinely have around 40% or more charge by bed time, and would trust it to last a full day, on any day.

Although the moto G50 has a nicely sized screen, its 1600 x720 resolution is a little disappointing when you consider many smartphones have 1080p displays in this day and age. But you pay for what you get, and overall, it should be fine for most everyday tasks. Next is the carbon fiber flip case for the Motorola Moto G50. Crafted with premium leather and hard PC shell, the case provides adequate protection while acting as a wallet for storing your cards and money in the case. With adjustable stand function, you can enjoy hands-free viewing experience on your phone. It also has easy access to all the buttons and charging port. The Motorola Moto G50 is also slightly smaller than alterntives like the Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite, as it has a mid-size 6.5-inch screen. This was a sensible design decision as the G50 is a truly mainstream phone, perfect for the sort of person who prefers something easier to handle over a slightly better video streaming experience. Confusingly, such an omission also makes it feel less capable than both the Moto G10 and Moto G30, which offer four rear cameras including an ultra-wide lens. And for battery life, probably helped again by the low-res screen, the Moto G50 is the new champion, managing a heroic 25hrs 45mins in our looped video test. That’s a couple of hours ahead of the other Motorola-branded competition, and seven hours ahead of the non Motos in our roundup. Really impressive. Motorola Moto G50 review: Camera As for memory, you can get the moto G50 in a 64GB version – which is pretty low for today’s standards. But should you need more memory, you’ll be happy to learn that the moto G50 also provides 1TB of expandable storage via a MicroSD card. Battery life When it comes to size, the moto G50 is a hefty handset. It measures 16.49cm x 7.49cm x 0.89cm and weighs 192g. However, despite not being the lightest smartphone available, the moto G50 provides a solid grip overall. But donning a plastic design, it’s clearly a cheap handset. This does mean it can feel a bit excessive for those with small hands though, with a bit of stretching needed when reaching for the fingerprint sensor in particular.

While the moto G50 has amazing battery life, the 10W wired charger included with the handset is a let-down and takes several hours to charge the phone to its full capacity. That said, you could buy a more powerful wired charger as the G50 supports 15W charging. You don’t get wireless charging, either. Cameras At least it doesn't have any issues when used in bright exteriors, but other than that, the colors and contrast levels are all fairly standard. Watching YouTube clips or streaming content is fine here, but far from being particularly vibrant. Camera The Moto G50 camera is different, though. This phone has a triple camera array, but it feels like a single camera one because there is no zoom or ultra-wide lens. One of the highlight features of the moto G50 is its 6.5in IPS display, which is a perfect size for browsing the web, scrolling through social media, reading ebooks, streaming movies, playing games and more.It would have been nice to see a punch-hole selfie camera, rather than a more distracting teardrop notch. However, this certainly isn’t the end of the world. The Moto G50 has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display that's only disrupted ever so slightly by the notch for the selfie camera on the top-center of the screen. The part I’ve enjoyed most is that the Moto G50 doesn’t take an age to process its photos, unlike the Moto G30 and Moto G10. This can be a real headache in cheaper phones, particularly if you shoot an image to share in WhatsApp. The improvement is likely down to the Snapdragon 480’s superior image signal processor. Motorola Moto G50 was released in April 2021 which is a good budget 5G smartphone. Coming to the specifications, the phone has a 6.5” LCD 90Hz display, 4GB of RAM, a massive 5000mAh battery, and powered by Snapdragon 480 5G octa-core processor. It features a triple rear camera set with a 48MP wide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth lens, along with a single 13MP front camera. The Motorola Moto G50 offers a refresh rate of 90Hz, a 5000 mAh battery, and a good display at a reasonable price.
