While the LawnMaster VBRM16 is a pretty simple piece of equipment in the scheme of things, it does have a good number of features, especially when you consider the low price. You can see these features in more detail in my video review but let me talk you through them now. Safety Features The great thing about the LawnMaster VBRM16 is that the manufacturer has carefully combined the blade width and run time to ensure the mower covers up to 100 square metres in one go. I found that, when testing the LawnMaster VBRM16, it detected the perimeter of my lawn very easily and would stop and turn in good time. However, my front lawn, as you will see in the video review, does have well defined boundaries. You can see from my video above the results the rear roller will produce, and I think you will agree they look great.

Not only is the LawnMaster 41cm supplied with four 4.0Ah batteries, but you’ll also get two fast chargers. This means that you will always have power; one set of batteries on charge while the others are in use. However, it is a little disappointing that you don’t get a dual charger, but it’s not the end of the world by any means. The fact that you get all of this equipment makes the LawnMaster excellent value for money. The LawnMaster CLMF2434G is a cordless lawn mower weighing just 8.6kg and is powered by a 4.0Ah 24 volt battery (two supplied). The batteries take 60 minutes to charge and when combined will deliver up to 60 minutes of continuous run time. It features a 34cm cutting blade, a 32 litre grass collection bag and is designed for lawns up to 300m². There are 6 cutting heights available that range from 20mm to 70mm and the mower comes with a two year manufacturer’s warranty.
MULCHING FUNCTION: choose from two ways to dispose of grass clippings. Collect in the 32L fully assembled Redi-bag for green waste disposal, or use the supplied mulch plug to finely cut the clippings and return to the lawn to act as a nutrient This LawnMaster comes with a safety key. This needs to be inserted before the mower will operate. This is a feature of most cordless lawn mowers, so it’s no surprise that it is included. This is great if you have kids and there’s a risk of an accidental start up. Grabbing it by the handle, I plonked it on my lawn, pressed two buttons, and the mower was off and mowing.

The downside of the LawnMaster VBRM16’s unwillingness to traverse anything that isn’t grass is that it wasn’t brilliant around bare patches. I have a fairy ring in my grass that fared particularly badly over the hot summer of 2022 and hasn’t managed to recover, leaving bare patches in the lawn. When the mower approached these, it stopped and avoided them. If it was a flower bed I’d be thankful for it but it’s worth noting that the patchier your lawn, the harder it will be for the Lawnmaster VBRM16 to navigate it successfully. Another feature that impressed me with the performance of this cordless mower was the way in which the rear roller striped the lawn. It is now 2 weeks since I cut the lawn and the stripes are still defined and looking fantastic.

Additional batteries can extend running time (sold separately). Battery duration depends on lawn conditions. Being a push mower, you will need to exert a little more strength than when using a self-propelled model. However, it’s pretty lightweight so not something that I found to be an issue even when the grass collection box was full. I used this cordless mower for the first Spring cut of the season, so the lawn was longer than usual and not in the best condition. The LawnMaster mower performed really well despite the conditions. The 3 pivoting blades can be adjusted to cut grass any height from 20mm to 60mm. High specification deep tread wheels and powerful drive system grips slopes of up to 35% (19º). My front garden doesn’t have any slopes, but there are lawns all over the UK that do.
