I understand that SDD is probably the way to go for anything really advanced, but sometime one just wants to pull something simple out of the boot, plugin and go, for example if you are a long way from home and that laptop.

Please can you forward this information to icarsoft. I think that it will help them to improve the tool. It is not correct that a fault with one module (the CD changer) will prevent the tool from connecting to all of the other ECUs in the car, including ones which are on a different data bus. Retrieve generic (P0, P2, P3, and U0), manufacturer-specific (P1, P3, and U1) codes, and pending codes.
