Rollins also talked about the "major project" he moved to Nashville to realize, as he originally revealed in his recent "Sic" book. Asked what the project is, Rollins said: "It's something I've been working on for a couple of years with my manager, Heidi May, and I've put my life savings into it. All I can say is that we're looking at launching 14 months from now in Nashville and it will make people smile until their faces hurt." Q: The Autobiography of Quincy Jones – Quincy Jones, Jeffrey S. Thomas, Steven Strassman (engineers), and Elisa Shokoff (producer) (2001) We hope you’re having an excellent October weekend and listening to a ton of music. Have a great time with all these tunes and STAY FANATIC!!! Fanatic! I’ve been off the road for about a week now. I’d rather be out with a show waiting for me every night. The upside is I have access to my records and I’m trying to take advantage of that but I’d rather be on the bus with the pressure of a show.

Henry Rollins: ‘I wouldn’t go back on stage with a band for

December is here. It’s a vacuum. Since there’s nothing I can do to change the reality of my past, the absolute truth of the information or how I process it, I accept it completely. It’s like accepting death and cold. I just do it. Even though it hits me harder as I get older, I’m far more destroyed than I used to be. So, while the horror is more profound, the fact I am—to a great degree—dead, in a lot of ways neutralizes the effects. I liken it to shooting yourself in the head, watching the brain matter slide down the wall and then doing something else. The six years Henry wants you to be a part of are filled with some very exciting adventures that involve all kinds of weird and obsessed fans, cops as crazy as mad dogs, a lot of substance abuse, and some of the most memorable night drives. For this batch of shows, we’ve printed two books. The first is a run of my new book Sic. The cover is slightly different than the previous one and will be exclusive to the tour. We also printed a tour edition of a book I published in the last century called Solipsist. This edition has a few less typos and a cover also exclusive to the tour. I just finished signing all of them. Yeah, I've been there three times. Seeing the Great Pyramid, it’s bigger than I thought it was going to be. And then the Sphinx was smaller than I thought it was going to be because only seeing pictures, nothing really prepared me for those two visuals. Henry Rollins Interview". Crasier Frane. His whole thing is you put on the show, everyone goes 'yay,' you play what everyone wants to hear and everyone's happy. And he said, 'You're not?' I'm, like, 'No, not necessarily. If they happen to like what I'm doing, cool. If they don't, they can bite me.' And I'm sure in the last few years he has sung that one, that one, that one and that one for the five hundred and seventy millionth time. And 50 thousand people went 'yay.' That's just not for me. I'd rather take the risk." Quite often as a focusing exercise I recite parts of the Constitution and tracts from Abraham Lincoln’s speeches. It is one of the many best-rated Henry Rollins books that deserves a thorough read. It’s not a book filled with fun ideas and happy memories, instead, it is a book that is filled with brutal honesty and exposes the reality of life. The Twisted Human Mind I do my best. I like getting up every day with something to do. Having nothing to do for me is really depressing. Since the 1980s, Rollins has toured around the world doing spoken word performances and his shows frequently last for over three hours. [92] His spoken word style encompasses stand-up comedy, accounts of experiences he has had in the world of music and during his extensive travels around the globe, self-deprecating stories about his own shortcomings, introspective recollections from his own life (such as the death of his friend, Joe Cole), commentaries on society and playful, sometimes vulgar, anecdotes. [ citation needed] "The talking shows are more demanding, because it's only me on stage", Rollins explained in regards to his spoken word shows. "It's like comparing surgery with construction – one requires super concentration and the other is just physical." [93] Video games [ edit ]Rollins, Henry (January 3, 2013). The older I get, the more I want to be alone. This started in the mid-1980s and has only intensified. It has become a struggle. Going to shows is difficult. Working with people isn’t a problem because we’re interacting with a shared goal. Today there were people in the room. I can’t tell you what studios they work at but it’s as high level as it gets. The green room coordinator warned me it was a very full house in there. This isn’t the kind of thing that gets to me, it’s just work. I prepare as fully as I can, go in and be ready to hit it on the first take. That’s how I always am in these situations. I did the takes, dialed in all the direction they gave me and didn’t say anything else while they were telling me what they wanted. Never, ever interrupt a producer. It doesn’t matter how many people are in the room. There’s work to do and I do it. That’s the beginning and end of it. I’ve seen a lot of great bands but getting to go to Cramps shows, I’ve never recovered. I wouldn’t trade those nights for anything. In 2019, Rollins began appearing as a disillusioned poisons instructor in the TV series Deadly Class. Rhodes, Aaron (February 17, 2022). We have a great October mix tape for you tonight. We start both hours with the Damned. I think I’m going to have to put this play list into my phone and drag it to the gym with me today. On February 18, 2009, KCRW announced that Rollins would be hosting a live show on Saturday nights starting March 7, 2009, [73] which has since been moved to Sunday nights at 8:00 p.m. [74] As of Aug 2023, Rollins has hosted 748 episodes.
