This is a very small part of a large book. There’s an entire story coming, and this isn’t it! It’s just a fraction, so please don’t assume anything. It is an erotica. It is dark. And it is a romance, but based on the synopsis, many are wondering how far the heroine goes. Please don’t assume she’s had relations with all of them. Or any of them. Take the scene for what it is. An insight and a tease:) Like seriously, she kind of glosses over some things that I would have grudge-matched for at LEAST a week. One night, a year before the main events of the story, Rika gets involved in a dangerous prank when she is invited to a party at Michael Crist’s house. She is unaware that the Horsemen have planned an elaborate and dangerous prank that involves breaking into a rival school’s gym and sabotaging it. The prank spirals out of control when the Horsemen encounter a homeless man living in the gym. The situation escalates, resulting in the man’s accidental death. Rika, horrified by the events, attempts to call for help, but the Horsemen prevent her from doing so. The thin spaghetti straps did almost nothing to hold up my breasts, but it fit perfectly, molding to my body, and it made my skin look darker than it was. Mrs. Crist had awesome taste, and it was probably a good thing that she’d gotten me the dress, after all. I’d been too busy preparing to leave for school tomorrow to bother with what to wear tonight. Yep. I went in with anticipation and dread, ’cause this band of rich-boy bullies were going to exact their revenge on that one very unsuspecting girl… our heroine. In fact, she was his brother’s “girlfriend”. Being groomed into the family and her godfather (said bully’s father), took her in as his own, and had very specific plans for her. You’ll learn that part soon enough.

Will getting drowned in the sea, then Michael saving him, only to see Rika drowning in the sea, and again Michael saving her, then Trevor drowning in the sea?! And have I mentioned she’s so freaking beautiful??? Your eyes will legit hurt if you look at her for more than 3 seconds. Few places are as mysterious and oppressive as the small rural town in the Midwest featured in Penelope Douglas’ novel Corrupt. The town is characterized by its friendly inhabitants and close-knit community, with most of its citizens living in modest homes and working in the local factories or farms. i honestly had no sympathy for any of the four horsemen here and at one point i thought, im glad their entitled asses went to jail. they should've stayed longer. but of course my perspective has changed and i love their entitled asses now.

Myriad conversations throughout Corrupt highlight the characters’ motivations and emotions, providing a deeper understanding of the characters and their circumstances. He had 0 personality. I don’t know if PD was trying too hard to make the others intriguing that she failed to develop Michael enough or what, but he was just so…meh.And most of all, I wouldn’t have to wonder, hope, or dread that I’d see him. Or teeter on the edges of elation and agony when I did. Nope. I’d be able to hold out my arms and spin in a circle and not touch a single person I knew. Heat flowed through my chest, and I didn’t know if it was fear or excitement, but I was ready.
