There are two significant advantages of the Kawai ES110. First, the sustain pedal included is much better than the foot switch of the P-125. It is a proper piano pedal with half pedaling support. Second, the Kawai ES110 has Bluetooth. You need an adapter and some cables to connect the P-125 with a smart device. This in 2018 seems a bit outdated. The DGX-660 is aimed at different audience of the market. But since they cost about the same price, I think it’s a good idea to put them together and see which is a better choice. The P125 uses Yamaha’s Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) key action. It is the entry level action from Yamaha.

P in P-series stands for portable. But does the newest addition to the family bring other advantages besides portability? And, more important, is it a true upgrade to beloved P115? Read further as we try to find out the answer to these questions in our in-depth review of the Yamaha P125. Highly Portable and Lightweight Sound Boost is an EQ + volume feature that boosts treble frequencies. The purpose is to make the high end stand out more when the piano is played with other instruments. The effect is marginal and likely won't be noticeable in 99% of situations. Does it have any looping or recording function to enable me to record one part and then play over it? If you like your digital pianos to look like the real thing, you won't be disappointed. The red line running across the top of the keys is visually striking and helps create a visually separate zone for the keys Yamaha's P series has to be one of the most successful line of musical equipment ever made. The P95 was a critical and commercial hit, the P105 drastically reduced the weight (we reviewed it here) and the P115 added new smart features.

The built-in effects is the same. You get one reverb effect with four room settings (hall, concern hall, club, and chamber) and that's it. It makes little sense to upgrade to the P125 from an older model in the P series (or equivalent from other brands). You're better off saving up for a high-end keyboard instead. Keep this in mind as you read through this section. These new features are nothing to ignore, but they're also unlikely to be the only reason why you'd choose the P125. The P-125a is also equipped with 20 preset rhythms, including pop, jazz, and Latin. Play along with these rhythms at your desired tempo to make playing solo more fun than ever before, and enjoy the useful Dual Voice and Split Keyboard functions.

Intelligence Acoustic Control (IAC) solves the problem so many pianists have faced: low frequencies are just not audible enough at low volumes. Effects Available in Both Models: IAC (Intelligent Acoustic Control), Reverb, Resonance Damping and Chorus However – and I think I can speak for most serious pianists – these features are hardly going to swing your decision. If you're looking for a keyboard in this range, your top concerns are likely sound and build quality.I like it – it makes practice sessions particularly better. But it's not nearly remarkable enough for Yamaha to dub it “revolutionary” as it has in its marketing. The music rest is identical to its predecessor the P115, but a big improvement compares to the entry level P45. To round up this section of our Yamaha P125 review, I'd say that this is one of the better built mid-priced digital pianos. It uses some of the best plastics and has a gorgeous, minimalist design. Although not as “real” as the YDP series keyboards, the P125 does a great job of looking and feeling like an actual acoustic piano. Given how much Yamaha touts the Smart Pianist app as a key feature (more on this below), I would have liked if they had thrown in a free A to B USB cable in the box. Conclusion

Yamaha P-125 - ePianos What’s the difference between the Yamaha P-125 - ePianos

Good weight distribution in any keyboard is paramount for accurate performance. Higher notes tend to be played faster. Bass notes, on the other hand, are often held longer. You're not going to play a lot of staccato bass notes, but you might do that on higher octaves. If the weighted action isn't variable, it would be very difficult to play fast, staccato notes on higher keys (this is why it's next to impossible to play proper piano pieces on a synth action keyboard). In GHS keyboards, the weight of the keys decreases as you go up the octaves If you are interested in tons of instrument voices, mixing and composing your own music or the most authentic touch and sound of an acoustic grand piano, the P125 is not for you. There are other models on the market that serves those purposes. CONCLUSION The modest design of the P-125 was created with user accesibility in mind. With the goal of being as user-friendly and approachable as possible, every element of the P-125 is designed to help keep the player focused on their playing. In practice, outside of Duet Mode – which is helpful while learning alongside a teacher – you'll rarely ever use Dual or Split mode. They're nice novelties to play around with but hardly something you'll ever pull out in a live gig or even use on a semi-regular basis. The included music rest of the P125 is a solid piece of plastic. It is quite wide to display any music book you have and is quite tall as well to properly support any printed sheet music. The beauty of the P125 is that it produces a first-class piano sound and enables you to enjoy playing the piano whenever and wherever you like! The keyboard on the P125 provides a natural piano feel and features the Yamaha Graded Hammer Standard mechanism - this keybed is slightly heavier in the bass registers, and lighter in the treble octaves, just like an acoustic grand.
