Explore the wonderful world of colours with a curious little owl, who is determined to stay awake and see what daylight brings. A young owl stays awake all day so she can see all the colors of the day. So excited was she that she stayed awake all tonight too and discovered that nighttime is just as beautiful, if not more so, than the daylight.Talk about the things that your child does that make you say “wow!” For example, when they build a tall tower or help with the tidying up. Colour sorting: Collect different coloured items from around your house. This could include toys, craft materials, clothes and kitchen utensils. Ask your child to sort them into different colours and talk about what they have done. Lovely book to share with your toddler my little girl loves all the colours and has learnt to name them all. We also do loud and quiet voices while reading this story and have enjoyed looking at day and night. Simple text and an endearing character experiencing colour for the first time give an original slant to a first colours book.

Rainbows: Paint or draw a rainbow. Talk about each colour as you use it. You might like to display this in your window. Wow! Reviews of Wow! Said The Owl

Everyone knows that owls are nocturnal but one curious little owl decides to take a long nap at night so she can stay awake during the day. Mummy and Ellie-Lara bot love sharing this book. Its a great book to explore colours and wildlife. We loved the repeating phrase..."Wow" could be one of our first words! At night, when we are feeling tired and ready for bed, owls are just waking up. But one curious little owl decides to stay awake all day, instead of all night, and discovers a world bursting with colour! Yet when the night-time comes around again, the stars above her head are still the most beautiful of all. Secondary Year 6 leavers - Covid-safe transition activities and ideas It's been a chaotic year but Year 6 children still deserve the best ending to their primary journey I spy colours: Go outside to your garden or an outside space. Look around and play ‘I spy colours’, where one person says “I spy with my little eye, something blue.” Your child has to guess what it is. Try it with other colours.

really enjoy reading this to my little girl, she giggles whenever i say "WOW said the owl" a lovely bedtime story I liked this book as it had a nice story to it whilst also providing a clear range of colours for baby to look at. The colours are mainly pastel which is a nice contrast to most childrens books. WOW! It’s Night-time is the sequel to the award winning picture book WOW! Said the Owl written and illustrated by Tim Hopgood. Really like this book, learning colours and great pictures from day to night. Kept my 2 year old very interested and learning her colours. As you are reading the story together, encourage your child to join in with repeated parts of the story: “Wow! Said the owl.”What she sees, from the warm, pink glow of dawn through to a day filled with the bright colours of green leaves, blue sky, grey clouds and, finally, a stunning rainbow, makes her exclaim 'WOW!'. Lovely visual book. JJ loved the repetition in the book I really emphasised the wow he loves it. I know the book off by heart I've read it that much. Lovely story From the warm, pink glow of dawn through to a day filled with the bright colours of green leaves, blue sky, white clouds and, finally, a stunning rainbow — ‘WOW!’. But despite the beauty of the daytime world, the little owl decides that the night-time stars are the most beautiful of all.
