actually not much grass court tennis in New Zealand but a lot of astro (artificial grass with a sand base) because it can handle the rain better than hard court and is easier on the joints of the old fellas. The only way to know is to buy yourself a few cans, or in bulk if you’re feeling like a bargain, and give them a try on court!Do you really need to play with more than 8 balls at one time though? I only ever use 3 or 4 when hitting against someone. You’d be better using 4 new ones every couple of weeks, rather than opening them all at once.

Comments: These are the best tennis balls, very comfortable on the arm and last quite long. I have used Pro Penn Marathon, Penn ATP, Dunlop Grand Prix and the usual Penn/Wilson. Yes they are expensive which is the bad part but you get what you pay for. The next close is Pro Open Marathon but they are not cheap either and less comfortable. If you want to play more, take arm injuries seious and are willing to spend money, then these are the balls for you. If not, just go for cheapest Penn Extra uty, nothing worth spending in between. Although I’ve used the Wilson US Open ball a few times in the past, I hadn’t concentrated my efforts fully on its playability. Dunlop replaced Penn as the official ATP Tour Ball last year, and the ball is, of course, available for retail. This is the most widely used ball on tour at the moment, and it plays well. questionnaire given to players at the Australian Open revealed this truth – when asked which brand theyThe US Open tennis balls are a great choice for tournaments, matches, training, coaching or for your weekly doubles. If you just want to make sure that you are bringing a popular and respected ball to your weekly four look no further than the Wilson US Open.

History of the Wilson US Open Tennis Ball - Celebrating 40

Because the pressure inside the ball is higher than the air pressure outside, the pressure inside will leak out slowly over time. The sealed pressure inside the manufacturer’s tin or tube creates an equilibrium around the ball which keeps the air inside the ball from seeping out. The only reason I don’t use this ball more regularly is the price. They come in at double the cost of the Tennis Point Premium Ball, and although they’re great balls, I don’t think you get double the performance. As you can imagine, this wasn’t exactly precision manufacturing, and as the game became more professional, a higher degree of uniformity was required, so the process changed to using a compression mould with two half-shells. There has also been a mixed response to the decision to allow in-play coaching at the tournament for the first time. Comments: These are the best balls out there, along with the Dunlop Grand Prix XD's. These balls have great pressure maintenance. The felt doesn't poof out, and they bounce great. Unlike the Penn ATP's, these balls don't lose pressure after one and a half sets, and they don't poof out like the Penn ATP's either. I can use these for three sets with no pressure loss (and I hit the ball hard). What else do you need? Highly recommended. You can't go wrong with these or the Dunlop Grand Prix's. These are little pricier than the GP's though. Either way, you're good to go.For me, it was a phenomenal feeling to look down and see the Wilson US Open ball in my hands. The fast nature of the ball helped me play my best tennis – I felt like I was in my comfort zone and gained confidence knowing that it suited my game very well. ” -Jonas Bjorkman

Comments: These balls keep their pressure better than the Penn ATP, but I think the Dunlop HD Grand Prix are better. I also tried the Slazenger Wimbledon balls and they were awesome.Players will be able to receive verbal and non-verbal coaching from the stands during the tournament, provided it does not interrupt play or hinder an opponent. US Open Green Tournament Transition Tennis Balls are the final step for young players before they transition to a traditional tennis ball. Designed for kids aged 11 and up, the green balls bounce about 25% less than a normal tennis ball.
