As I am kind of a watch enthusiast, I naturally ended up having a collection of different timepieces. One day while going through my watch collection, I discovered my trusty old Timex Weekender . I have been using it for a fair amount of time and can safely say that it's worth the money. So, I combined my experience and some digging to give you the ultimate Timex Weekender review. This particular type of strap is soft to the touch, incredibly durable, and resistant to both heat and corrosion. The variant of the Weekender that I bought was a 38mm dial. The size of the dial felt very decent and comfortable to me. This was suitable enough to fit on any man's average-sized wrist without becoming overbearing.
The quartz chronograph movement Timex uses is called the W92. It’s a fairly simple and robust movement that powers millions of watches sold all over the world. It is not exclusive to the Weekender Chronograph. It also powers the Expedition Chronograph and many other Timex chronograph models. Not only is the 1962’s case size small-wrist-friendly, but it also features a tachymeter bezel, typically used to calculate speed. While the bezel is relatively thin, it has just enough presence on this 39-millimeter case. Watches labeled water-resistant without a depth indicated can withstand splashes and rain, but should not be submerged. As the Weekender is available at a very reasonable price, you should not expect its durability to be way too good. But trust me, its durability is too good for a budget watch! Without hesitation, I can definitely assure you that it is durable enough to amaze you and exceed your expectation.A quartz digital watch is powered by a battery. Considering the nato leather strap, chronograph movement, and overall quality of build, it’s not really fair to compare the Weekender Chronograph to the Casio’s and Seiko 5’s that dominate comparables at that price point. You will find things like the Invicta 90242-002, the Seiko 5 SNK809 ( read our review), and dozens of other options (the vast majority of which fall into “fashion watch” territory). This was a key factor in choosing many of the timepieces featured later in this article, so look for timing bezels, tachymeters, and slide rules to help shrink your chronograph. Case Size Matters Before Timex went nuts with Peanuts and vintage reissues, their everyman Weekender was their darling. In the dozen years or so since its introduction, the modest Weekender continued the ethos of Timex as cheap and cheerful timepiece, continuing its influence on the bottom end of the horological market. As it is flat and flush with the bezel, it doesn't act like it's popping its head out and inviting scratches. As a result, it will most likely withstand the test of time as a regular wearer! Just like the illusion created by a bezel, the right strap width can make a larger case feel smaller. Timex sexed-up its bland three hander by offering the watch with a variety of different colorful and patterned woven straps. Dandies have long done this at home; the concept also found favor for crummy women’s fashion watch sets. The Weekender’s take on multiple bands for the same watch had mass market, ready made, androgynous appeal. The Weekender is not that sort of watch that's so flashy and will catch anyone's eyes at a subconscious sight. It's designed to be a simple, spontaneous, and minimalist one. It's also quite lightweight.

The Weekender 40 Chronograph has two buttons, one above and one below the crown. The top button activates/stops the chronograph function, and the bottom button resets the chronograph. How To set the time: As far as I know, no one ever faced any time issue in this watch including me. It's quite handy and useful. The mineral crystal on the Weekender is good enough and somewhat resistant to scratches. During regular use it came out no worse for wear, though regular use for me consists of office and computing work. Timex Weekender is so far one of the best classic watches on an affordable budget. The Weekender comes in a variety of designs, sizes, and colors but the most alluring one is the classic leather strap (especially genuine leather strap) or NATO strap with the clean face. A chronograph watch provides the added functionality of a stopwatch. By using the two pushers, you can start, stop, and reset this function.
The Timex Weekender uses a strap that’s more ZULU than NATO (inexplicably adorning the 40mm Timex Weekender): two metal keepers on a single web, devoid of the fold over bit that prevents the watch from sliding off. Looking to sell extra straps, Timex kept it simple. For instance, a 40-millimeter case with a 20-millimeter lug width will fit a smaller wrist better than the same case with an 18 or 19-millimeter lug width. And, for smaller wrists, the strap tapering a few millimeters at the clasp never hurts. The Best Chronographs for Small Wrists The Weekender's efficiency to mix and match various watch faces and NATO strap options basically mean you can wear it everywhere. The problem with the Speedmaster Reduced is that Omega discontinued it. However, there are always pre-owned examples available on Chrono24 and Crown and Caliber. Zenith El Primero I’ve owned it for about 8 months. I only wear it about 5 times a month but so far, nothing’s broken. I would still recommend it for a great looking budget watch. Reply
