Dorset Crime - Book Series In Order

It is not surprising that Rachel would become a very prolific author as writing is something she always loved ever since she was a child.

Why is Corfe Castle famous?

This was a well-written police procedural, with compelling characters, and this new series shows much promise for an engaging series. Looking forward to book 2. The Corfe Castle Murders” opens to the murder of Archie Weatherton, an archeologuist found killed in a tent while out at work. The keep at Corfe Castle was built in the early 12th century for King Henry I, William the Conqueror’s son. It was designed to be impressive – and it certainly was. DCI Lesley Calrke is in Birmingham enjoying some good times with her daughter before she’s due to start working for the Dorset Police Major Crimes Investigations Team.

Lesley must hit the ground running. Can she get along with her new partner DS Dennis Frampton, a traditionalist who doesn't appreciate her style? Can she solve the murder before the killer strikes again?Lesley’s team doesn’t like the way she talks, and don’t share her moral values with the use of a “swear jar”, and notepad. Before she's even started her new job, Lesley is dragged into investigating a murder at one of England's most iconic landmarks, the imposing Corfe Castle. A member of an archeological dig is found dead in one of their tents by his girlfriend. It turned out to be an excellent choice. The Corfe Castle Murders is a straight police procedural, with a cute, quiet setting and a focus on how an abrasive, foul-mouthed, recently injured, big-city cop, on temporary assignment to sleepy Dorset while she gets over her recent trauma gets on with her new rural police team. As the new DCI, she has a new team. They, for the most part are welcoming. Dennis however, prefers traditional methods and isn’t fully on board at the beginning with how Lesley works. Detective Lesley Clarke has just moved from Birmingham to Dorset for six months. She needs time away after two big cases and an injury deeply impacted her life.

They were put in the oubliette, a place where prisoners were forgotten, and it is believed up to 22 of them starved to death there. Lesley is a complex character who has a lot going on in her life. I feel that there is more to her than meets the eye and I hope this is further explored as the book series progresses. DI Zoe Finch moves to Cumbria and finds herself heading up a new team, with new villains and new challenges. Carl has moved with her (and Yoda the cat) – will Zoe find herself getting embroiled in a Professional Standards case? Why she has to pollute the atmosphere in a beautiful town of Corfe castle? Please stay in some city, well away from normal peaceable people. She works with detective sergeant Dennis Frampton, detective constable Michael Legg, detective constable Johnny Chiles, and police constables Mullins and Tinna Abbot. She also gets the support and skills of crime scene manager Gail Hansford.
